Vladimir Grouza - Histological Validation of rPCA-derived Myelin Water Fraction Imaging in a Panel of Variably Hypomyelinating Mice
Biography: PhD Candidate at McGill University
Abstract: We investigated the application of blind source separation, robust principal component analysis (rPCA) for myelin water imaging in a panel of mice exhibiting varied hypomyelination profiles. rPCA-MWF exhibited sensitivity to myelin as evidenced by region of interest (ROI) analysis of several white matter tracts as a function of relative myelin basic protein (MBP) gene messenger RNA (mRNA). Immunohistochemical staining for MBP revealed a pronounced correspondence between rPCA-MWF and MBP density.
