It’s extremely strange to be genuinely happy for a person that you don’t know. I watched this young man and his family interact, and I wish nothing but greatness for him in the NFL and beyond.
Perfect situation, gets to sit behind a pro bowler that has made it to the big game on an expiring contract with a monster o line and a run game. It doesn't get much better than that for a rookie QB.

@@scribbledown8529 yes, do you… ? because clearly you don’t. Campbell already stated hooker isn’t going to be a starter at all this season 🤡, he’ll be competing in that back up role and if Goff plays great again (which he is) they’re going to pay him
@@Elusivve doesn't matter who drafted him he wasn't playing this year almost no shock and string he will miss all of training camp due to his injury. He'll have a ton of opportunities in the future. If they both end up being really good the Lions will likely trade him for a first round pick. Not to mention he's got four seasons to worry about before he even thinks about another contract
@@Elusivve plus he's dealing with one of the best offensive lines in football and offensive coordinator as well so the situation is excellent to be in as he will have probably the two most important things that young quarterback needs in his favor

Hooker's agent is correct where you get drafted is extremely important. I don't believe every QB drafted before Hooker will "make it" but I do believe that they along with Hooker would be to a Pro Bowl level if drafted by the Detroit Lions.
Playing behind an elite oline as a young QB is everything as it gives you the running game to help with PA and protects you while the game slows down.
Get well and take the NFL by storm in 2024.

He sits and learns for a few years behind Goff, leans what it takes from a probowl (2 and more to come) QB, and if it's time for him but Goff still killin it, then he's PERFECT trade bait after we developed him. And.... you always need the best backup you can find. If he's groomed and can step in at a high level...and eventually Lions put in a few plays for him, run / option like Hurts etc... just to liven things up!

That Tennessee vs Alabama game this past year was my second favorite game of the college season right behind watching Michigan run osu off their ugly trash field. In that Tennessee Alabama game Hendon Hooker was incredible and he out duelled Bryce Young while playing against Will Anderson Jr and Brian Branch also Jahmyr Gibbs looked great for the tide in that game too so obviously Brad Holmes was impressed with multiple players from that game so he drafted a few of them.
I hope Hendon gets healthy and can learn as much as possible before he plays , Hendon seems very mature and his father looks like he raised his son well.
We will see what happens at QB for Detroit but Hendon is in a good place because he has no pressure to play right away and Detroit has one of the top offensive lines in all of football and some good players around that line like the one who announced his selection (St Brown) with a good offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to help him come along to start his NFL career.
Hendon needed to go to a Place where he wasnt going to be forced to start the 1st year but still is planned to be a franchise leading QB and detroit was perfect. He can learn alot about scrambling with the ball and how to handle it and alot in general from just teddy himself
I wonder if the lions will host NC A&T again this year, that would be cool, since that’s where hendon’s brother qb and dad coach at. They hosted the band I believe but still neat.
Make no mistake; this Lions front office knows how to draft - character is high on their priorities. Brad Holmes knew who Hendon's dad is - what cloth he was cut from. They are going to do it right - heal up, learn the system as a red shirt - no rush - that's the best case scenario for everyone.
