    Tonight my group allowed a narcotic addict (not a drinker) to share and be a member. She thanked them for allowing her in.

    I heard of the Washingtonians during the 1980s-1990s in AA meetings, but they said the Washingtonians disbanded because they joined the Temperance Movement. When Prohibition was enacted in 1917, it ended the need for the Washingtonians. Of course, Prohibition was repealed in 1933. Alcoholics Anonymous was founded in 1935. This documentary contradicts what I heard in meetings and believed for years, stating the Washingtonian Society ended sometime around 1870. A person should always be careful believing what is said in an AA meeting.
