Yeah honestly!! Ive been seeing a lot of negative comments, I think people forget that an artist cant always be stuck in their past sounds and I feel like it will be grow on them soon haha
TANDON TBH for me it’s nothing to do with the 1975 i still love them and appreciate the work they put into this, but a lot of the songs have a UK garage sound and that’s not everyone’s style. I really don’t like that sort of music and that’s why I personally don’t love this album other than the singles and a couple of other songs
IMO, its a really plain album. Its not a terrible album but its by no means good. Songs are forgettable, bar maybe 4? They teased us with the sounds of IYTSLMK and then gave us acid house inspired garage tracks, lasting 2 minutes with no rhythm. Such a shame, but their worst album by such a long way.
the things i dont like about it are: Its waaay too long. Genres goes all over the place, too many intrumentals. It just seems like half of the songs dont belong
The second time I listened was much better than the first
The song “don’t worry” is a song that Mattys dad wrote for him when he was a baby, so him and his dad went into the recording studio and recorded it for the album

Actually his dad wrote it for his mom during her postpartum depression, and he first played it for Matty when he was 11. It's such a sweet song

Haha, bagsy is a british thing. Its basically slang for like 'claiming' not in net or 'I call not in net'. We say 'bagsy not it' a lot if we dont want to do something. Love the reaction xx

Yeah! It reminds me of a band named Last Dinosaurs and their album wellness has a transition in songs like this between the song Wurl and Wellness. You should give it a listen!

I really love the way that you react about this band. I remember your video reaction of "ABIIOR" and I was about to cry with you many times haha and that's beautiful because you express your feelings a lot. That happened with this album again. I agree with you that is like an insane rollercoaster and I love The 1975 for this, just an amazing album that deserves to be listened from the start to the end. My favorite songs are maybe Frail State Of Mind, Roadkill and What Should I Say. Cheers from Mexico!

The delusional fans love it sure, those who couldn't possibly give a negative comment because their love for matty is too great. This album was shockingly bad. Barely 6 listenable songs on it when its a 22 song album. Such an embarrassment considering how much they delayed it, for the only new songs to be instrumental...

I’ve seen them live three times this year, they open with “people” they never fail in concert, I’ve seen them five times altogether now, and hopefully again on Aug 12th in Edinburgh, Scotland later this year, lockdown permitting 👍

I think there's something you should know is like the sequel to Frail State of Mind. Honestly, that one and roadkill are my 2 new favorites on this album. I think there's something you should know hits HARD with headphones, especially at night. lol

unpopular opinion but like this is one of their best albums they've made - I feel that everyone was expecting the world from them in noacf but they've already released such classics that this album just added the little something that was missing from them :)))

Prob like only 4 songs that i like from this album. Idk just not feeling it. Some tracks are pretty lazy written. A Brief Inquiry and ILIWYS prob still their best work
Completely right. Someone who can be honest about their opinion and not just fanboy the 1975 and tell them everything is great when it was clearly awful. Couldn't agree more, maybe 5 listenable songs, the rest interludes/instrumental or terribly jarring to listen to.

This album was a major disappointment. Every single we already knew, the rest were just interludes added to the album. How did it take so long to make this? They delayed it to add a few more interludes? I don't understand... No-one will relisten to those instrumental songs, don't pretend you love them when they will literally never be on any playlist of yours. PS. Maybe its mattys plan so he doesn't have to be on stage for so long? He can go have a 15 minute break while this album plays?
