I remember seeing the EWB like that in body in white at the factory all those years ago. There were 2 on test dolly rigs out the front of the UK head office. They quickly realised we knew what they were and tried to stop us taking photos before we got back to Aus.
I had a 98 Disco I and my ex had a 2001 Disco II. I loved how the Disco II drove, and how high you were and the visibility. They were both great road trip cars, and I took both off-road regularly.
I think white is the classiest color for these SUVs. Back in the early 2000s the idea of driving a "Land Rover/Range Rover" had such cache & panache (especially here in the midwest). They were so exotic and you usually only saw them in movies set in Europe. It was like a hoity-toity Jeep! LOL
About ten years ago I had a really good run with these rigs I must have bought and sold 30+ of them. At that time these rigs were all hitting the 100k mile range and were blowing headg askets left and right. The dealers would quote people $8k+ for replacements so people were just off-loading them for pennies. I never paid more than $1500 for one and they were all pretty clean minus the head gasket. I would replace the head gaskets and add head studs instead of bolts. Often they would pull the threads out of the block when removing the old ones so I would have to repair the threads with a heli coil. I got pretty good at head gaskets on them and could knock one out in about 6 hours. I haven't had one in for myself in 5+ years but wouldn't mind another one. on the later ones 03-04 there were a few issues with cracked piston liners as well those rigs just got parted out. Dealt with plenty of the three amigos and leaking sunroofs on these as well.
Hi Bob, that's a nice Discovery! We have Discovery's here at our place, they are real good sellers here in the UK. If I was in your kneck of the woods I would most definitely buy that for myself! Don't under sell it Bob! Regards, John 🙂
Wow Bob That Disco is amazing ! For its age and 133,000 miles, it is in fantastic condition. I was working with LR at this time, and I love these Disco. BTW U said it’s a 2002 model. The front twin globe headlights came with the 2003 MY facelift. In your video at 8.47 U show the Vin tag This shows the manufacture date as September 2003. This Disco is actually a 2004 MY vehicle The car would have arrived in USA late 2003 or early 2004. The model range in 03/04 was S / SE & HSE Model This vehicle has 18” wheels Wheel arch moulds Full Leather interior Front captains seats ( fold down adjustable armrests ) Twin sunroofs It’s a highly optioned SE model, and similar spec to an HSE… The front nudge bar & driving lights & black frames around the rear lights were factory accessories. Rear air suspension came standard on 7 seat vehicles I couldn’t tell if this car was optioned with ACE Active Cornering Enhancement This item was on front suspension and helped eliminate body roll. A lot of silver pipes under the front RHS ? ( or left side ? ) wheel arch, above the tyre, indicate that the vehicle will have ACE Anyway What a fantastic Disco ! I also just saw your video on the 1996 850 T5 Amazing ! I was with Volvo at this time 850 are such a great vehicle That one is mint / brand new Cheers. 👍
if you have one with minimum rust you have definitely won the lottery, if anyone from out east tries to buy it i would recommend you advise them against it lol you dont see many of them in the UK anymore as its a bit rainy over here ;)
I just bought a 2004 land rover discovery 2, the same color from arizona 600.00. These are one of the last soild axles front & rear makes great overlanding builds my rear sunroof open & closes but won't shut down on sunroof issues not open how to reset is holding the closed button for 10 seconds continue to push button down as it opens & closes to reset switch
This was my dream car in high school now I really don’t like SUV’s that much anymore but I was told these things where not known for there reliability so I started looking at the Lexus 450 and got it back then!🧠🤯🔫
SOLD!

a new land rover is an incredibly low standard to compare anything to.
