    It still amazes me that there is a country on this planet in 2021 that is like North Korea. I mean, having a dictator isn't anything new unfortunately - but the food shortages, never having an egg, not known milk was for anyone etc etc. Just mind blowing really. Hopefully one day soon, the people of North Korea will be free and able to see the wonders of the rest of the world and not through the lens of a dictatorship.

It is so eye-opening and refreshing to hear her speak so highly of a simple American breakfast, it blows my mind. I have been struggling financially lately as a college student living on my own, but I realize I still haven't missed a meal and I continue to eat well, I always manage to have gas in my car, my phone bill remains paid, I have wifi, electricity, water, and HVAC year round. They got the general idea with that plate but almost everything on there would take a different form and there would be more of it. Omg, that is so true! When I was young and we lived overseas on an army base, we would crave Korea food, and we had to make due with what we had. So we would fry bacon but eat it like pork belly. I'm so glad I'm now in a place Korean food is so widely available, it's not the same as Korea butt it's so much better than not having at all!

    An actual American adult breakfast is more like coffee and some toast, or maybe a muffin/scone/pastry/etc. For me it's just coffee. I never eat a traditional breakfast except on weekends. Of course all of this varies by individual taste, region, etc.

      I went thru a kick where I made eggs daily with sausage and a slice of fry bread, but... I can do it with my job since I set my start time (a luxury few have and that I am grateful for). However, it just gets to be too much. Too much work, too many calories. Best keep to a good oatmeal. Cheaper and easier, I think.

    She seems sweet so not to take anything away from her compelling story, but Americans don't eat hotdogs and fried potato wedges for breakfast. I never saw a breakfast like this until I came to Asia. I realize real sausage is hard to find here, but at least consult an American when you associate foods to Americans. Bonus shocker: we don't drink "americano" coffee either... That's a European drink!

    • @aWywardWyvern
      @aWywardWyvern 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That didn't look like a hot dog to me, just a large sausage and potato wedges (or some general form of potato) is a frequent occurrence in my breakfast. What she was eating looks almost identical to my weekend breakfasts when I have time for all the fixins lol. Just depends on what part of the US you're in.
