Johnny is real!, tapping the spatulas, forgetting the s & p, making a mess... yep that's why we love ya!,❤ I got the small Blackstone to take camping. 😊
Johnny is without a doubt my favorite griddle TH-camr. As I was looking into getting one his videos were what I watched the most. I just have a small Royal Gourmet 22”. Just had my in-laws over to help clean up some stuff around the house and made smash burgers for lunch on it. First cook of the year on it.
I'll say it again - the email / newsletter is excellent! You watched a video, made a mental note that was a good thing & you should copy that - BOOM - a week or two later you get the newsletter in your email to remind you & decide it's time to go shopping & MAKE STUFF!
Mr. Burnet, Thank you for helping me cook Fried Rice with chicken and shrimp. I follow your instructions, and it always comes out right. You are an awesome teacher. Keep up the good work and keep griddling.
I’m a new griddle guy. No clue on how to use one so of course I went to TH-cam to figure it out. Had to wade through a LOT of dorks before I found Johnny. Love this guys understated intelligence and humor ( see Nate Bargatze). I’ve learned a lot in a short amount of time and have enjoyed the experience thanks to this guy.
I dig the low key, real guy self deprecating non edited manner you did this. It's like learning from a buddy who knows a few things and not the guy that's showing off and selling you stuff. I'm learning my Camp Chef Explorer 2 burner with the pro griddle on top. It is but its not as easy as I thought. The infrared thermometer has helped a bunch. Thanks for that tip.
Thanks man that's exactly what I'm going for. I don't think it's a style that will ever get millions of views but I don't care. I think the right people will enjoy and learn from it and that's what matters. I'm glad the thermometer has helped, I always reccomend it.
I’ve got a 2 burner Blackstone. I started with a portable Blackstone for camping and that’s when I fell in love with griddling. Thank You for the content.
I've got a Chargrill Performance series 22" folding cart 2-burner portable flat top griddle coming today. It has "X" legs that fold down and wheels on one side so I can roll and store against wall in garage when not in use. Got a great Memorial Day weekend deal. First griddle ever and I'm stoked!
Love how take the worry out of cooking chicken! You are absolutely right, if the spatula is at least 165 degrees it is sanitized and safe for whatever else it touches, sensible non worry cooking!!
This camping season I bought myself a small 17” Char-Griller to tryout and benched the iron skillet. I was already hauling a 24” portable propane grill so the initial investment was pretty low for me. After a 5 day weekend my wife and I couldn’t be happier with how the meals turned out (happy wife = …). Your videos were key to that success: smash turkey burgers, bacon, scrambled eggs with onions and peppers, sausage, hash browns, pancakes, chicken with melted cheddar. I learned that 17” surface and 1 burner is small and light for travel but also cooking requires extreme space management. The center heats up very hot while the sides are < 100 degrees. Eggs and bacon was more like Eggs IN bacon (and eggs IN the grease cup). Infared thermometer = MUST! And very helpful with temp. Keep up the engaging videos! I’ve only just begun.
Got myself a griddle because smash burgers. And after watching a few other channels on tips and tricks, I got hooked on Johnny's channel. Easy peasy stuff. I'm just a regular guy with a regular 2 burner griddle. And his videos are easy to follow. Great channel!
great segment. you make it look so easy. i have a Blackstone. I've had it a few years now. I love it. your videos are plain and simple ad easy to watch and understand. thanks for doing them.
Great video. I have 2 Blackstones. A 22in 2-burner and a 36in 4-burner. One tip I saw on the chopped cheese is to wrap the whole sandwich in foil or paper once it’s built. Let it sit in the foil for 5-10 minutes before opening it back up and eating it. Not sure what it is about it, but kinda a game changer on the chopped cheese. Keep up the good work.
Another excellent video in a wonderful series from a really mellow, tell it like it is, kind of guy. I can't believe you forgot the beer! Thanks for the great instructional videos that include great humor on the side.
Just got my Blackstone On The Go 22, really like your videos. Like others have mentioned your videos are simple, realistic and not over produced. Very refreshing, thank you for the content!
I got a 30" BS for Father's Day last year. Love it and ready to upgrade to a 36". Really enjoy ypur channel and I have learned lots of tips from following you.
Glad I found you for some helpful info. I just bought a 36" Blackstone at Costco. I've used it every day since I seasoned it (3 cooks so far). I've been using a Traeger smoker for my outdoor cooks and your videos have helped a lot with trying something new. I've been making fried rice in my wok for years and I can't wait to make it on my flat top now.
I think you're brilliant! I love that you show the basics! Real food that real people eat! I got a 17 inch for camping, then a 22 for home. Should have held out for a bigger one, you need more room than you think. Thank you for the inspiration! Just signed up for your newsletter!
Got my Blackstone cpl months ago, found your channel and I've binge watched so many of your videos and learned so much, thanks for all the help, appreciate you, 👍
John, i love your videos. I just got a 4-burner Blackstone. I got it because its summer and I have a big family reunion coming and I wanted a way to make food for a crowd. Your videos have given me a lot of ideas both what to make on my griddle but also tools to use with it. Thanks for the great content. I really appreciate it.
Hey Matt! I'm so glad you found my channel and like my videos. That's a great idea to get a griddle for the family reunion comming up. I'm sure everyone will really appreciate and love what you make. I'm so glad my videos have been helpful and really appreciate you watching. Not that you asked but my suggestion for the reunion would be smash burgers. It's the most popular griddle item, everyone will probably have heard of it already and it's kind of like a show. You can make a bunch of bacon and onion ahead of time then set up a smash burger bar. If you have all you beef balled up in a cooler then you can just pull out a ball or two as family members come up and make them a burger in about 1 minute. Super fast and fun to watch you smash them. Just an idea Thanks again for watching.
You are awesome Johnny for doing these kind of videos. I am now officially a noob griddler for a week now.😉 It's one thing to watch a zillion griddle videos and quite another when you start cooking on one. My brain wanted to explode trying to think of all the tips i have "learned" on TH-cam. So thanks for the step by step process. I like your style. 👍
I just got a Cuisinart 360 xl griddle. I'm new to the griddle but I understand the basics already because I have a griddle insert for my Weber kettle that I use.
I always pick up a new tip or two when I watch. I've got a Blackstone 2 burner. It's just me so the size is good. The weather is finally good enough that I have it out and have cooked a few things on it already.
I'm on the fence about buying a Blackstone griddle. I have used a grill for all of my outdoor cooking for beau coup years. It seems like two different animals when it comes to cooking so I'm trying to educate myself the best I can right now. Thank you for sharing this video. And the food looks GREAT!
I got a Walmart brand “Expert Griller” griddle several months ago. Close out special for $89! I haven’t used it yet but plan to soon. It has a hard cover. Thanks for the informational videos!!!
Just got a 36in Blackstone 2 days ago and it rained all day after I got it setup and seasoned 😢 hope to use it this morning for bfast. Love these videos, this guy is so chill and is very relatable 👍👍
Man that's the worst! Get a new toy and you can't use it. Well I hope you eventually got it together and we're able to use it. Congratulations on the new griddle and that is for watching.
I just got my Cozze Plancha G-500🎉 very excited for this new way of grilling! I do find it to be more messy that a steel brush and clean a normal grill:)
I felt the beer thing. I cannot grill without beer. For one, it's just great and refreshing in the Georgia heat, and two, I use the amount of beers that I've drank as a timer. 😂
Longtime subscriber Johnny. Had my Camp Chef 4 burner flat top for about 4 years now. Love it! Have you ever used your camp chef to BBQ. Not a lot of people know that it comes with BBQ racks. You can remove the griddle and place the grates on it and barbeque. I realize they make some pretty fancy ones out there now, however as you know, griddling is just basic cooking, and the Camp Chef does just that for me. My dad had a griddle while I was growing up. That was back in the 60's and not a lot of families had them then. I was always helping my dad at family outings, reunions and church breakfasts. We are doing breakfast this morning on it. Appreciate all of the ideas of new things to cook on the flat top. Have a great Holiday Weekend.
Thanks for being a long time sub. I've only used the grill part of it once or twice. It's very nice but I'm usually filming and want to cook in the griddle. That's crazy your dad had a home griddle back then. That's not common at all.
Johnny, happy Memorial Day Eve wishes from South Bend, WA. I got a new grill for Christmas and finally got around to putting it together. It’s only a 2 burner Blackstone grill, but it will be fun. I just found you on TH-cam and just love your delivery. Not only is it so informative but also so entertaining. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.❤️👍🙏🏻❤️👍🙏🏻❤️
Awesome Vid Brother. I got a 22" 2 Burner Blackstone off our rummage sale site. I like it so for compared to my single Burner. Made some good burgers tonight. Griddled onions and Jalapeños. Frozen patties unfortunately. But did doubles cheese burgers with griddled onions and Jalapeños. Put lime on the fresh Jalapeños when I was cooking them. Not to bad. Might try Mushrooms next time. Definitely adding bacon. Hope all is well with you all. Be Blessed. Shawn
@@JohnnyBrunet Yes it was! I don't think my wife would have approved of the purchase if it had been much more. She is definitely approving of the smash burgers and fried rice I've made so far! From what I can tell the quality on mine is right up there with the basic Blackstone griddles at half the price. More money for beer! Thanks again for the great content! I need to try those fajitas!
My 1st time cooking was the day before last and I made Oklahoma onion burgers. They came out good except I did make some mistakes. The big thing was I used the potato buns which I don't think I will use again because they were too soft and small for my patties. I toasted them but they basically fell apart when we tried to eat the burgers. Another mistake I made was I put lettuce and tomato on the bun but i put it on the top bun and I wanted that stuff on the bottom bun😂I made double cheese burgers with the very thinly sliced onion. I also didn't use enough salt on the meat. They were good but way too messy. Tomorow or Monday I'm making cheese steak sandwiches. Last night I made a pound of bacon for me and a pound of turkey bacon for my wife. That turned out real good and that cook helped me learn the cool and hot spots on the griddle and how fast the temps rise and lower on it too. So that was valuable info to me. We had some BLT's with the bacon. Oh and the griddle I use is the stainless steel LeGriddle 30in. I really love it. So excited cause I waited over 2 months for it to come to the house. On cloud nine. Thanks again for these videos. I am drinking a bud in your honor and enjoying all your content! Happy Memorial Day to ya and all your viewers.👊
Johnny I received a Blackstone 22 inch for a safety award on the Intel Chip Plant job in your neck of the woods! Its my first Griddle I'm really excited!
I'm diggin your chopped hamburger subbie!!! Cookie sheets are just perfect for trays to carry your stuff. Get two so you can stack them. Mayo is perfect and easy to toast buns with, other than butter adds butter sweetness. Man that finished platter O food looks fantastic!! Sorry bout ur lack of beer. Need Johnny Koozies we do.
You are the real deal Johnny! Showing it like it is! Great beginner meal video. I'm ASSUMING you have a nice red beer (Bud lite & Bloody Mary mix) in your mug as you were cooking!??!? I mean that's what I would do! 🍺
Johnny, we just bought a Blackstone 2 burner. Subscribed to your channel and newsletter. You sure are a good teacher, also a great cook/chef, thanks for the advice. A new subscriber from Iowa.😊
Hey Brother ….. You Moved 🎉🎉🎉 What a lovely spot you landed in !!!! Congratulations and Happy Summer Johnny 🇺🇸🙏🏻💫 “ GO BUCKEYES !!!! “ Brian in NW Michigan
Howdy Johnny, Have a 36" Blackstone with air fryers and a 22" Blackstone Culinary with X-Frame legs. Yummy meals and great tips my friend. Have A Day! ;~)
Newbe here just got my 1st Blackstone 2 burner griddle for early B-day present Also live in Ohio ( near Toledo ) I have heard you say that you’re also from Ohio somewhere in other videos keep up the grilling learning lots of cool stuff thanks 👍
Out of beer? Is it amateur hour up there Johnny? Just kidding ya, great video again, I got the e-book and signed up for the newsletter, looking forward learning more. Have a great Memorial Day weekend bud.
Father's Day Gift, I was totally not expecting a Blackstone Griddle. I'm Totally New to the world or Griddling I Need All the Help, Tips and Pointers I can get!
Congratulations Greg!! I have a free ebook and newsletter that comes out every Saturday. I'll put a link here if you're interested. It's all the beginner stuff that you need to know to get started.
I’d love to see a vid like this with beer amounts as time increments! “You’re gonna wanna throw down the potatoes for about a beer and a half!” “In the mean time the eggs are gonna cook quickly, about a quarter beer on those!”
Have you considered getting a "boom arm" usually used with boom mics and attaching it to the corner of your griddle to use as a camera arm? Could allow you to position it wherever you need, but also move it when you need. I've seen them at MicroCenter for around $30 or so!
No I have not considered that. I just moved here a month ago so it's a new house and I got the new camera. So I've been very overwhelmed with how ot set everything up. Especially with the lighting depending on when I cook. That's a great diea about the boom arm. I am going to go look into that. THank you so much
oh I just looked at your channel. I apologize if you already told me but I didn't realize you were in columbus. Saw you out at Glen Echo that's super cool!
@@JohnnyBrunet Yep! Great to see someone representing Cbus on the youtubes! :D That's why I love following your recipes because I know I can find the same foods you are using for your meals! LOL
You ran out of beer!? That must be a first. Lol. I think we're all set with no worries of running out. Happy Memorial Day to you and your family! Hopefully you won't get the nasty storms we're to get in PA.
I really enjoy your videos. You dont take yourself too seriously and you are hilarious at times. I'd greatly appreciate your input on griddling on Stainless verses the Rolled Steel. There aren't many videos talking about the higher end SS grills. I'm doing an outdoor kitchen and settled on a built in Le Griddle but my concern is the food being more prone to sticking and it being harder to clean than the rolled steel griddles. With your experience cooking on SS in restaurants I'd love to hear your thoughts. Keep doing what you're doing!
Hey sorry I didn't get to this I e been swamped with comments. I've cooked on a le griddle before they are very high quality and look great for built in. The cleaning is a little more labor intensive but not terrible. You just use ice and a green scrub pad. As long as you put down some oil you shouldn't have any problems with food sticking. If you have any more questions shoot me and email at griddlewithjohnny@gmail.com. I am able to respond to those quicker bc I get less of them.
@@Ben-qd2nl you're welcome. Like I said feel free to email with questions. I check it every morning on the laptop and it's easier to write detailed explanations, and I don't mind. Also I do have a decent amount of experience cooking on the le griddle which I'm not sure a ton of people have. So I'm happy to help.
Johnny is real!, tapping the spatulas, forgetting the s & p, making a mess... yep that's why we love ya!,❤

Yeah but he forgot the beer. Almost unforgivable.

Keep it coming Johnny, this newb is taking it all in like a sponge 👊🏻🍻

It's like cooking with a buddy. Informal and real. Of course, my buddies have beer. 🤣
I just got myself a blackstone and came across your video. I am in Columbus, OH myself. Trying to learn some skills.

Yeah CampChef buddy! Can't wait to try the new one.
Heck ya man!
Just got the 4 burner Blackstone yesterday got it seasoned and I’m about 30min from throwing the first meal on it. :)
Awesome man!!!! I hope your first went well!
I’d love to see a vid like this with beer amounts as time increments!
“You’re gonna wanna throw down the potatoes for about a beer and a half!”
“In the mean time the eggs are gonna cook quickly, about a quarter beer on those!”
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think I'm just the man to make that video.
I can see issues with that.
"Hey Johnny... I had potatoes down for two beers and they were still not done.... What am I doing wrong?"
@@briansingley6109 very true, now it's a race to see how ma y beers I can drink before my taters are done.
Great video as always..always keeping it real.. nothing wrong with those "happy accidents "..
Thanks Rich.
Yeah, I got a new 36” Blackstone for MYSELF because my husband doesn’t cook or grill.

I’ve got nothing else going on in my life, just griddling.😂
I love the new back yard! Are you still around C-Bus?
Ya man I'm just up north of polaris now.
good video bro u remind me of norm macdonald for some reason lmao cheers
Thanks so much. I loved Norm.
I'm disappointed in your lack of beverage Johnny. Hydration is very important.
You'll have to step it up for the next video and make some Mai Tai's
For me it will be ground beef, eggs, bacon, chicken breats, chicken thighs, fish. Carnivore diet stuff.
Labor Day?
Oops, I might of started drinking early. Memorial Day. 😅
Good video Johnny! THANK YOU for this one. Question : does camp chef make a griddle hood that ataches to the griddle like blackstone does ?
Yes. I have one.
Yes they do and there's some second hand dealers that make them as well. You can find them in Amazon.
New house???? Looks awesome!
Yes sir! We moved about 2 months ago. We love it.
Thanks for the detailed info Johnny. That certainly helps. You are top notch.
All good stuff!
Hey I just want to come over for breakfast! 🤣
Johnny, I own the same Camp Chef 4600 griddle. How about a link to the hard cover?
