Planting in the Fall allows it to shoot, then it stays dormant in the winter and then grows again in the spring. Glad you learned something new.

Great video. In our 7 a Community Garden we planted 48 cloves of Italian Purple, a very spicey hard neck variety. Worms will feed on those leaves. Depending on the type of tree those leaves will impart whatever minerals they contain.

Good work! Zone 7b here. I love how you made this look so easy. You explain everything so well. This year I've planted hardneck for the first time, and planted softnecks from this year's harvest. I have no idea what variety I have because when I decided to try garlic last winter I threw out the bag it came in. It doesn't matter to me because I am just happy growing anything.
