Adventures of Tarka was the first channel of any kind I subscribed to. Not Delos, not La Vaga. It was Tarka. I have patiently looked each week for a new video for over a year now and was so unexplainably excited to see a new video. I literally did not believe it at first. I mean, I sat in silence for a moment, and got myself prepared to settle in, before pushing play. I shouted to my kids and they replied "is that the "hot like an oven guy" ?! You inspired me to buy my first boat and begin dreaming of future adventures. Wonderful story telling and a beautiful ending to this adventure. Marvelous job sir. Your channel somehow managed to be unique against a backdrop of hundreds of sailing youtubers and in particular your narration was outstanding and beyond compare. I thank you sincerely for the joy you bestowed and wish you all the best.
Damn. I’m going to miss y’all. I started following from the beginning and had to search all over to see what happened to you. When I found out I said a prayer for you and your family over the loss of your dad (hope you don’t mind) and I’ll continue to keep you / y’all in my prayers. So from an old Navy guy in Texas that watched you living out my dreams, “Fair winds and Following Seas” in the rest of your journeys through life. Keep us posted when your next adventure begins. The episode we have been waiting for. I hope you will return to the sailing world eventually. Your videos have been so enjoyable to watch over the years, so thank you for that! I hope you’re doing well.
@@TheAdventuresofTarka I'll be looking forward to it too 👍🏼🤞🏻 I'm still subscribed and I love your storytelling so be sure to let us know if you start a different channel with a different boat🤞🏻
Thanks for concluding your sailing channel. Many others don't and it's so important that they should. We build a relationship with sailing youtubers so it's sad when they hang up their lifejackets, but if they can conclude their channel like you have done then it softens the sadness of a parting friendship. Best wishes for this next stage of your life!
I can’t believe it, I thought I’d never see another episode! Your adventures made me feel so alive! Thank you 🙏 Hope you eventually make it to the South Pacific sometime in the future!
Really glad you did this "final" episode. Sorry about your loss. Doing this for 2 years is more than 99.9% of us can say. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
Mate, you were the first sailing channel i found, it led me to buy my own boat and recently got a ride on another boat to cross the pacific from Fiji to New Zealand. I watch many sailing channels now but there will only be Tarka. Your channel was an inspiration. I had a tear in my eye when i saw the notification come up.
OMG it finally happened ! Almost given up hope on it, but here it is ! Thanks for sharing your adventures with Tarka with us. It was genuinely one of my favorite TH-cam sailing channels.
When I told my girlfriend the last episode of Tarka was up she said, "You're going to cry." She knows me well. As a recent Vega owner, your videos have been an inspiration for me. Thank you for putting your adventure out there for us to see. Much love, dude.
Loved your channel, so sad to see you wrap up and sell Tarka, but sometimes life tells us what we should do and we listen, sounds like thats what you need to do now. Thank you for the high standard of videos and commentary and it was wonderful to see the beauty you saw through your lens. Good Luck!
Your sailing videos were the first I watched and I found them most inspiring, not alone because of your honest way of expressing yourself. Thank you for every single one of it, and especially for this last one, which understandably was the most difficult. I‘m sorry for the loss of your father and I wish you and your loved ones from the bottom of my heart all the best for your life. From the little I know from you, it will be fantastic!
Wow, what a story! I've watched all the way through, and now feel like I'm saying goodbye to an old friend. I wish you well, and thank you for taking us on this journey with you, you have truly touched and inspired me in so many ways! I hope one day you get to make that pacific crossing and continue the adventure!
Thanks for finishing the story I have been watching since the start. More importantly thanks for bringing attention to mental health, so many people are struggling and more need to talk about it. What wonderful photo tribute to your father. Best of luck in life and your journey through it.
I came back to say, I've now been sailing for a few years now, and i was inspired to start because of your videos. Thank you so much for opening up a beautiful work to me and my family!
Brian. Thanks to share this vid, i'm grateful for many years of following your episodes. But,...we're not done yet. Life sometimes may throw his worst at you,..the trick is to pick yourself up each time and keep going.! What i want to say is,.... we'll be waiting on new episodes when a new ship tarka 2 comes out. Let the adventure be reborn.! 'Ones a captain always a captain'. Dont go for long now We'll be waiting,..... take care and much love.
My wife and I have been following your journey and although there’s been a lot of time between episodes I’m thankful there was a final episode. It was a great story just missing it’s last pages. It was more than just a story of a sailor…. It was diving into life a little more than most ever do and letting the wind carry you onto the next destination. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your adventure with us, I understand the state you were in at the time, I am sympathetic and hope that all is well now that time has moved on, we shall too. We all could use a Tarka adventure and I am glad you had yours. Stay safe, healthy and adventurous, take care friend.
Although sad as I was enjoying the voyage. Thank you for finishing the tail. There are lots of people doing sailing films but yours had a certain grace to them that was special. Thanks for all the hours you must have put in to ring me and other such pleasure. God speed and don't forget to talk to people about your feelings.
Not long before you started your adventure, we lost a family member in the same manner. You have inspired so many people, you found love (I hope) and have learned so much and I thank you for sharing your life and adventures. Be well and hold on to those closest to you dearly! Safe travels.
You really discover how many people have been personally affected by suicide when it happens to you, that you never would have known about otherwise. Sometimes for good or practical reasons, we keep these things hidden, but we are far from without company. I hope you are doing well Mark, and thank you for your support.
A o T , 1st sailing utube I discovered. Binged each video which brought back sailing memories and were a help during boring lockdown at home during that time. Thank you! Maybe your spirit of adventure takes you to places worth seeing. I saw the Caribbean in the Navy in the 80's and truly enjoyed your footage there.
It has been wonderful to watch your adventures and I second all the other comments regarding your excellent storytelling. My wife and I also got start on an Albin Vega, cruising in the Caribbean, broke and just out of college way back before TH-cam. We actually hung out on Tarka in the Abacos in 2007 with her owners at that time. Those couple of years totally changed our priorities in life and as a result we are now sailing around the world with our two kids, this time on a Boreal 44. I wish you all the best and I bet good things will come your way. Fair winds! Hans, S/V Positive Waves.
Wow. What a beautiful way to end this chapter. And you will have many new chapters you can look forward to. Thank you for sharing your travels and your story. As a friend said to me, "there is nothing that can prepare you for losing a parent." Many condolences on the loss of your father. Please know how much we have cared about you and your journey. You gave me hope that after a difficult year for me, things will get better. May we all have joy, adventure, and much love in our lives. Fair winds and following seas to you.
There have only been three sailing channels I have been able to get into. You kept it real. I’m about to buy my first sailing boat and it will be a small 27+ and start sailing just as you did. I am glad you finished with a goodbye. I hope you and Noustha are still together. Sorry for your loss. I hope all goes well. Maybe you’ll do an update in the future to tell us how it is going. All the best from Australia.
Finding the final adventure of Brian and Tarka pop up on TH-cam totally made my day. Over the years I have loved your low key approach to all of your challenges and successes on your voyages and so glad you shared the ups and downs. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. I can only imagine how hard things have been. Thank you for sharing with honesty and vulnerability. Best of luck on your new adventures
Unlike others here I have not come across your channel before, though I watch many sailing channels. I’ll go back to see more. I appreciate your honesty. I’m so sorry for the loss of your father. It wasn’t your fault. Best of luck in your future activities.
Thank you very much for finishing this chapter and for your dedication over the years. Yours was among the first sailing channels I found and perhaps the one which most truly exemplified the spirit of adventure. I'm sure everything you learned on board will serve you well in life - thanks for taking us along for the ride and teaching us a little bit as well. Please consider updating the channel every once in a while or creating a new one with your current story because The adventures of Tarka has been much more than a story about a boat, it's a story about your life and you are great at telling it. -Forever inspired
Thanks Tarka! It’s been such a pleasure to share in your adventures over the years. I find you narration voice so soothing to listen to. I hope you continue to find healing after losing your father. Thank you for using your platform to bring awareness to the importance of mental health. Wish y’all the best on your new path😊
Aw thanks! I've always disliked the sound of my own voice (I think we all do). But one way to grow out of that is to edit hours and hours of footage of yourself talking!
It was a pleasure to be along for the ride via TH-cam. Thank you for sharing your journey on the channel, you got to experience what too many of us will only get to watch others do. Hoping that when you get the next boat you bring us along again. Tarka was up there with Soulianis and Atticus as my favorite channels to follow. May you have fair winds and following seas as you enjoy the next chapter of life!
Hopefully you two are still together, a decent American guy that’s willing to learn and a wonderful, beautiful Swedish girl that’s an accomplished free diver, scuba diver, photographer, kite board surfer and most importantly a beautiful person. Hope you are both doing well and in love, as you always appeared in this story. Much love to you both ❤
You have no idea how exited I got when seeing a new episode of The Adventures of Tarka after so many years. It definitely feels like a friend visiting after so many years.
Me to got one Albin vega because of you haha , Really sorry for your loss 😔 It was pleasant to hear you voice again after a some time. It like you never stop .If you want give try again all give you my Vega for some time haha . Den Helder Nederland your welcome. What happens to Diane the French woman Going Tahiti ? Well HOP you will be back stronger with new adventures we miss you Mario
Awww man! Here you are again. And there you go. I know you had hopes of sailing 'round the world. But guess what? You and Tarka during these past couple of years have sailed around the Sun!! Think of that! And because of that you have brightened our lives. Fair winds my friend.!
Sorry for the loss of your dad. That must have been hard to talk about in front of all of us. Best of luck in your next adventure. You’ve got a lot of people rooting for you.
Thank you for the videos just watched them all for the 2nd time this time with my family we all enjoyed every minute of it and wish you the best this was my 1st and still is my favorite channel
You were the first sailing channel I watched. You inspired me to pursue a dream I never knew I had. My wife and I lost our baby daughter shortly after birth and your videos were a form of escapism for me. You inspired me to book onto a sailing course and I am now just about to buy a boat myself. Thank you. You are an inspiration. I hope to see you out in the South Pacific one day in the future. Fair winds buddy.
A very moving episode. I too have lost a loved one to suicide and I wish you peace along the next phase of your life's journey. And along that journey, I hope we are again blessed with your gifted story telling. Look up, and remember that as you endure an awful storm , your appreciation and joy of a spectacular day is made that much sweeter. In sailing, and in Life .
Thank you for wrapping this up. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed this channel. Of course, I can start over from the beginning again. I'm sure you'll find yourself back on a sailboat someday.
Thank you for sharing your journey, you have inspired me to buy my own Vega in the UK and I will always be grateful for you planting the seed, Best wishes for the future.
Wow I wasn’t expecting this after so long . I ended up buying a Vega myself and this channel was huge on my decision . It was a great ride you brought us all along for Brain! I’m so sorry got your loss of your father and the pain you have been through. I’m sure we’re all hoping Nushka is doing good too x You had a lovely way of presenting your story one that has not been replaced. I hope one day we’re see you on the sea again. Good luck Brain
🌎I follow several sailing channels in here but your channel was the first and the number 1🥇for me⛵️ I know you have another boat now and I hope that you will make a «comeback» with it🙏 I wish you all the best Captain🌏
Many others have expressed what I'm feeling after watching this episode, much better than I could express it in my own words. I'm sorry to see the story of Tarka and you come to an end, your story telling is compelling, a story that has touched my heart. I wish you well in whatever you do next. Fair winds and following seas sailor.
I found this series during covid and it was a blessing to get to live vicariously through these vlogs since then. Sorry for the loss of your father, I hope things go your way from here on out. Hoping to see you on another boat down the line. Thanks for all the hours of entertainment.
So sad to see you leave the boat, i enjoyed your videos so much in lockdown, only wish i could have been with you on your adventures. Life moves on,and with it a new adventure on doubt. Scuba diving will always be in my heart, just as sailing will be for you. Someday your return in body or spirit, but never forget its been a once in your life experience never to be repeated. Take care...and let the wind keep your sails full.
If I recall, you left the corporate life for Tarka. I watched you from the beginning. Well done. And, I am sorry about your dad. Thats got to be really rough. I believe there is nothing, you could have done about that no matter what. You aren't psychic, or clairvoyant - like all of us you cannot see beyond a small circle of space and time. Wether that small circle is around a sailboat or a corporate parking lot, you still can't see everywhere. On this channel y ou showed us guts and heart and intelligence and seamanship and you should walk away with a lot of pride and good memories . Best wishes and thanks.
Man. I can't imagine how hard it was to put together this last video. The emotions must have been challenging to revisit. I think part of me never wanted this video, as glad as I am to see the conclusion of your story with Tarka. Without it, I could just imagine that you were still out West somewhere off a small atoll. Thank you for sharing your story with us. I've enjoyed the journey. I hope life has brought you more great adventures and joy.
So sorry for your loss and for the end of your sailing adventure. I have so enjoyed your videos. Best wishes for you and what direction in life you take.
I'm not crying, you are crying. I have loved this series. I love what you stand for and I wish you all the best. Maybe one day, Tarka will pop up again somewhere and we will share in your adventures once more.
I started watching for the sailing and stayed for the adventure. You have a gift for narrating and a filming style which presents your journeys in a relatable way that is hard to come across even with so many youtube sailors. When I recommend sailing videos, I mention you and Chasing Bubbles. I am so very sorry about your dad...too many are lost this way. Thank you so much for opening your heart and your soul. If you ever find your way to CO don't hesitate to reach out -- I'd be happy to buy that beer you were wishing for! -Chase 1978 Pacific Seacraft 25
This is the only sailing channel that I can relate to, AOT was the very first to introduce me to sailing and have been the most inspiring, I really hope you continue soon and we'll be here waiting. until then, I wish you all the best.
thank you for taking me on this journey of yours! From time to time i came back to your channel to see if i missed something, so i am glad to see you again here. As others wrote, you feel like a sailing friend to me, as I know so much about your travells, sucesses and challanges. You inspired me to buy a little boat (7m) like yours an go sailing with my kids - thank you! I wish the both of you the very best, fair winds and safe returns!
Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us random internet strangers and giving closure to this adventure, I am really _really_ sorry for your loss; it hit me hard when you disclosed it; even though no one close to me has done it it felt really close when you brought it up. I hope you have found some peace with the time that has passed since the passing of your father and on so many levels you have been an inspiration for me. Again, many thanks for this and all the videos 🙇
Ditto many people here, you were one of the first channels I started watch on sailing. You confirmed it iOS what I want to do and watching that last episode was a great reminder, and great for some closure. Thanks for all the efforts and hours of adventure. Loved every minute of it.
Adventures of tarka was the very first TH-cam sailing channel I watched and I fell in love with the whole idea of buying a boat and learning the same way you did it’s been a copule years now and I still have my heart set on doing the same. I am subscribed t many sailing Chanel’s now but this one will always be my favourite I really hope one day you make a come back to the sailing life and continue to bring videos out gunna miss you mate ❤
Thank you for finally publishing the last chapter on what for me was a very memorable story. Tarka will sail on and you have already continued down your life's journey. Life can be complicated, it can also be very simple, you just never really know where it's heading even if you try to make meticulous plans. Many ships pass in the night and I am very happy to have passed you and Tarka on my journey. I know the pain of losing a loved one by their own hand, it's a pain that will never stop but it can become tolerable. One thing is for sure, death is forever and no amount of crying or inward thinking will change it. I have to say the thing that made your YT story for me, you have a very unique style of presentation which is simple in its form and very easy on the way it draws you in. I really can't think of any channel I have actually missed in the way I miss this one. Good luck young man, you have a life to live and a place in history no matter what you do or where you go. Just be gentle be kind and be lucky !!!!
Thank you for all of the videos you've made, you've touched so many lives and over the time you've been making these, you've helped me to reignite my love of sailing and exploring. Good luck and fair winds to you in the future, whatever you decide to do
I've recently "completed" your channel. Even if you never sail again you've had adventures that so many could only dream of. Whatever steps you take from Tarka onwards, we'll all still be here to support you. Love from Ireland
Hey, I was so excited when I just saw a new epsode, and fully understand that you have to move on. Sadly..... nothing is forever, really sorry for your Dad, we all only have one and im sure he was really specal to you. Dont worry, dont be sad, im sure he was proud of you, you have raised the bar for so many new and hesitant sailors, just went off and did t. Good on you and enjoy your next journey.
Thank you for sharing. Selling a boat is so hard. I know, I just did it myself. I mourned the loss of mine when it left even though it was time to move on.
Whelp, Tarka will be missed. I've enjoyed seeing all of the places Tarka has taken you as you shared your experiences. Hoping you will find another boat and take us along for the ride again.
It’s been a long time waiting for another vid… sad reality to not follow little Tarka’s journey any longer. Wishing the best for you and Nous, hope to see you on a new adventure across the Pacific in the future. Thanks for your inspiration to my life, just bought a 50yr old 22 ft to get started learning at 40yrs old. Cheers to you two and may the winds keep your sails full and moving forward.
Thank you for the last episode. It was very emotional, you were bonded With tarka very much. Hope you're well, so as she, with new owner. Story of your journey ona Tarka is very inspiring and has somthing more foe me than any other sailng vlogs, in fact it was more... true. Take care man!!!
it was worth the wait to see another superb episode but unbelievably sad that there will never be another Sailing Tarka. I hope to stay alive long enough to see you start again - no other sailing channel can replace yours. Thank you
Thank you for taking us on the journey with you. I really appreciated your videos - informative and honest (though I wondered where you'd disappeared to for so long!). Best of luck with your future adventures. You're an absolute legend.
First, a huge thank you for making the ending, and it's at least as good as all the other episodes. I managed to find your channel. already the second or third episode and it almost feels as if we knew each other. But all fun comes to an end, however it felt like a really good friend left without saying goodbye. It was so empty! So that's why I was really happy when this episode finally came. It's great that you want to talk about your dad, really. We need to be able to talk even about these difficult things. I will go sailing in a few years and hope you find your way back to sailing and that we meet one day. All the best to you! Anders from Sweden

So sorry for your loss of your father, I know that feeling as my son took his life also. I've enjoyed all your videos and wish you well
God bless you x
I am so sorry Ron. I hope you are doing well in your life and that he continues to live with you.
bless you Ron and bless your son!
Yours has been one of my favorite channels. I appreciated the invitation to ride along. Thank you.
The whole of life is a passage of sorts. ENJOY!
That's amazing! What kind of boat did you get?
@@TheAdventuresofTarka an old Jeanneau Melody, a little bigger than Tarka but in worse condition. Its become a labour of love. :-)
OMG it finally happened ! Almost given up hope on it, but here it is ! Thanks for sharing your adventures with Tarka with us. It was genuinely one of my favorite TH-cam sailing channels.
I hope the rest of your life is wonderful. Thanks for giving us a end to this story. Also thanks for sharing this part your life .
When I told my girlfriend the last episode of Tarka was up she said, "You're going to cry." She knows me well. As a recent Vega owner, your videos have been an inspiration for me. Thank you for putting your adventure out there for us to see. Much love, dude.
Aw, that's so sweet guys! I'm glad you guys were along for the adventure.
You're such a good storyteller, sir. I hope you'll find a way to share your next adventure, whatever that will be, with the same grace.
Thank you SO much for sharing this wonderful story i’ve enjoyed every single episode and while this story ends another starts...
Dont go for long now
We'll be waiting,..... take care and much love.
My wife and I have been following your journey and although there’s been a lot of time between episodes I’m thankful there was a final episode. It was a great story just missing it’s last pages. It was more than just a story of a sailor…. It was diving into life a little more than most ever do and letting the wind carry you onto the next destination. Thank you!
Think I’m going to have to save this video for the right moment.
It's a bittersweet one for sure
Thank you for sharing your adventure with us, I understand the state you were in at the time, I am sympathetic and hope that all is well now that time has moved on, we shall too. We all could use a Tarka adventure and I am glad you had yours. Stay safe, healthy and adventurous, take care friend.
Although sad as I was enjoying the voyage. Thank you for finishing the tail. There are lots of people doing sailing films but yours had a certain grace to them that was special. Thanks for all the hours you must have put in to ring me and other such pleasure. God speed and don't forget to talk to people about your feelings.
Awesome! Sorry it's over. Can't wait to try it myself. Good luck!
@@TheAdventuresofTarka ❤️🙏
Sorry for your loss. Also going to miss your vids, thanks for the great non fluff sailing adventure content. Farewell from the crew of TITANIA.
Such a wonderful story teller. Thank you for sharing yourself and your journey. And please keep telling stories. About anything.
Thank you Eve, it means a lot.
You introduced us to the sailing world. Thank you for sharing your story and for finishing it. Your vulnerability touched us.
@@TheAdventuresofTarka You have a pleasant easy to listen too voice.
Bryan, we missed you. You made me buy my vega. Thanks a lot. I wish you all the best in your life.
That's amazing! I hope it was a good decision?!
Me to got one Albin vega because of you haha , Really sorry for your loss 😔
It was pleasant to hear you voice again after a some time. It like you never stop .If you want give try again all give you my Vega for some time haha . Den Helder Nederland your welcome. What happens to Diane the French woman
Going Tahiti ? Well HOP you will be back stronger with new adventures we miss you Mario
Awww man! Here you are again. And there you go. I know you had hopes of sailing 'round the world. But guess what? You and Tarka during these past couple of years have sailed around the Sun!! Think of that! And because of that you have brightened our lives. Fair winds my friend.!
Thank you for sharing this incredible journey, I am a big fan !
Wish you come back to us one day.
I will miss you my friend!
Big hug!
Thank you for all your videos and especially this last one, thanks for giving us a conclusion to your adventure. I wish you health and happiness.
Great narration. You have a gift: storytelling. Nothing is better than adventures in small boats.
Good luck to the future! TY for the amazing vídeos! ❤
Beautiful journey, thank you…. Wishing you many more wonderful experiences… E. Santorineos
I’m sure we’re all hoping Nushka is doing good too x
You had a lovely way of presenting your story one that has not been replaced. I hope one day we’re see you on the sea again.
Good luck Brain
Fair days. Ashore.
Thank you sharing those beautiful adventures! Fair Winds...
🌎I follow several sailing channels in here but your channel was the first and the number 1🥇for me⛵️ I know you have another boat now and I hope that you will make a «comeback» with it🙏 I wish you all the best Captain🌏
Thank you. The Adventures of Tarka deserves on Oscar. Beautiful, exciting, inspiring and touching. Bon Voyage!
Thank you for the last video, I hope you will travel again at some stage and perhaps take us with you once again. I will look forward to it.
Hey, no worries about the wait. We understand that life has a way of taking over sometimes. Hope you are well! Lovely to hear from you again
My husband and I were so happy to see your new episode. Thank you for sharing adventures and your story with us. Best wishes to you!
Fair winds and following seas Tarka. Thank you for the memories and the closure
I was going to make sure you had seen this last episode!!! I assumed correctly that you were watching Tarka :-D
@@SailingEndgame of course! All the way back in the beginning. Great channel great dude
Blessings to you both. Began watching shortly after you purchased Tarka. I appreciate you letting us join the journey.
We love we live we loose and we win on our journey, good luck on your next one, where ever the winds may blow you Thank you for your lessons
thank you for taking me on this journey of yours!
Again, many thanks for this and all the videos 🙇
came back from vacation to find this. Thanks for letting me join in your adventure.
Ditto many people here, you were one of the first channels I started watch on sailing. You confirmed it iOS what I want to do and watching that last episode was a great reminder, and great for some closure. Thanks for all the efforts and hours of adventure. Loved every minute of it.
Sorry to see your adventure come to an end. I enjoyed all your videos. You were very inspiring. Good luck to you.
Tarka a legend among the Vega
You where the very first sailing channel I ever watched on TH-cam. Sad to see it end 😢
Best of luck to you, young man. 2 years of your life, memories forever. You appeared lost in the final video. I hope you find peace.
I'd say you have two happy days with old sailboats, the day you buy it and the day you sell it.
Whelp, Tarka will be missed. I've enjoyed seeing all of the places Tarka has taken you as you shared your experiences. Hoping you will find another boat and take us along for the ride again.
Thanks Bro, beautifully done. I'll miss watching your adventures and I hope your next ones are awesome. Haere rā.
Gonna stay subscribed and wait for Tarka Tarka, the next adventure, hah!
Thank you for the last episode. It was very emotional, you were bonded With tarka very much. Hope you're well, so as she, with new owner. Story of your journey ona Tarka is very inspiring and has somthing more foe me than any other sailng vlogs, in fact it was more... true. Take care man!!!
Was surprised to see you pop up. Thanks for another wonderful video 😊
it was worth the wait to see another superb episode but unbelievably sad that there will never be another Sailing Tarka.
I have loved watching your adventure since the beginning. You are a great human and I wish you the best in your future adventures!
It's definitely possible! That's also when I'd probably like to go sailing again...
