  • Every year, GWATA recognizes local students during the Innovation Awards Luncheon. This year, Devyn and Megan were recognized as finalists for the Future Technology Leader of the Year award.
After losing local glass recycling in the Lake Chelan Valley, Megan Clausen and Devyn Smith came up with a viable solution to offer to their community. As a HS Senior service project, the girls fundraised and bought a $6,000 glass crushing machine designed to prevent glass bottles from ending up in land fills as well as produce a glass sand by-product that can be used for gardening, construction, and art projects. Megan and Devyn were a part of Manson High School’s graduating class of 2019 and have passed the project on to 3 of next year’s senior girls.
