Instead of putting these on a burner you can boil them in a hot pot of water and it will retain the color then put them in a bowl of ice water, And then I bang them in a very thick plastic Ziploc bag so I don’t worry about pieces flying all over the place
wonderful, I live in New Zealand and to get your hands on certain craft supplies you have to order it in, I spent half a day yesterday looking for glass tiles for mosaics, this is going to help me out so much, thank-you.
You can also use marbles; you can boil them in boiling water, strain & put in ice water; you can use colored bottles or stained glass; you can take a walk on recycle day or grocery store (eg beer bottles or liquor bottles) but thank you so much for this! Thinking of ways to strain out tiny shards, colander? Screen sifter? Great ideas!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Oh, and printer ink is cheaper than alcohol inks, go crazy!!!!
Way to go!! I was about t buy a very $$$ mechanical class crusher, but now... I also want to try to het up my blue vodka and green Heinekin bottles and then ice then for a lot of cool blue and green glass!!!
yass this. Heineken and rolling rock. For green. Remember free wine bottles at wine bars. you can get olive and brown glass there. i bought a case of cobalt bottles. But like you said Sky vodka and others is cobalt
Thank you for sharing your video I was trying to break thick glass and it really wasn't working that well with your methods much easier thank you so much for sharing your video👍😄🌻
YES!!!!! Thank you. Now I can make my own crushed glass! I am in need of clear and I went to the dollar store in hopes of finding some. They did have some but they had a light yellowish tint and I was so disappointed and passed those up. This is wayyyy better and I will be able to make whatever colors I need! ❤
Thanks for watching 👀 🙂 they are both super easy to make. The vase fillers are not sharp at all when crushed but you can have some sharp pieces with the mirrors. So it all depends 🤔
Thrift stores are perfect for finding glass and literally everything from A to Z! That's where I have been buying the glass plates for a very cool art project I'm about to tackle. ❤
This is amazing I love it thank you so much! I love how you explain everything so easy as clearly best one I have found just terrific glad I found you.Judy PPP
This is great! I never knew this. I'm working on my first project with wood & the prices for crushed glass is very expensive. Thank you so much for this video!
I want to do some project with gemstones so ...Wow 😮I ve been asking myself how people would be Holding glasses with their bare hands, is It not Sharp? When you crushed those mirrows I could see that yes they are crushed glass. They colours and textures are beautiful, and you are right making ones crushed glass is more economical. Thank you for sharing 👍
Well I came across your Channel and was really pleased to see what you did I just recently bought Starfire crushed glass which I really like but your message is a whole lot less expensive and I love the idea of using me alcohol ink to make the colors that I want thank you so much❤
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Question can one use pigment to colour crushed glass instead of alcohol ink? I use a lot of alchohol ink and would hate for my glass to bleed into piece.
Hi dear, Thanks so much for watching. When you say pigment do you mean the liquid resin pigments? I never tried it before but if it what I think you are saying than I am pretty sure you can do it. PS If you let the alcohol ink dry for quite a while before using the glass it will bleed very little, I usually let my crushed glass dry for days before using them if you don't want the color to bleed .
I came across this video just i time. I was thinking of putting crushed glasses on my candle holders I think i might just try this. Thank for you for sharing
OMG Thank you !!! I have a really big Geode I need to do and I was just thinking on how much it will cost to buy all the crystal I need 😍😍😍 You are a LIFESAVER!!!!
I have a question about putting it on the heat. I watched another video which told me to do this as well and I had it in the skillet on medium heat and she also said to even cover it with something but literally all the color was gone and it actually looked like it started to burn should I be putting it on super low heat instead
The best glass pebbles to get are the ones that are colored but also transparent, not the ones that look that they are painted, ( i.e. the solid colors that you can't look through) also you can use it on medium heat but you really don't need to let them for more than maybe 2 to 3 minutes, I use high heat on mine and only let them for maybe 45 sec to 1 minute. I think the reason your pebbles start to burn and lose their colors is that they are painted on the outside.
Hello Bellary! I love your video & channel. I really enjoyed your video. It was extremely informative. I’m fairly new to resin Art, but I’m a soap maker and crafter. I’m so happy to see a woman of color doing this! You’re so sweet and cheerful. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us! Stay blessed!👍🏾🙏🏾🌷✨
Wow. You make it look so easy. I have an old very thick piece of canvas and wrap that around the paper bag that the glass is in. I have had yukky results with the ab covered glass. The coating look like it burns. Now, I make sure that the pebbles don't have the ab coating.
I absolutely love this video. I am going to try to make a poster if my husband for his 60th birthday in September. Thank you for sharing your idea. I’m a subscriber to your channel.
