- From the Cartoon Network Summer 2005 Kick-Off Special on May 30, 2005. What's bad is this is the closest thing to a TIE we got with TOM3. Thanks to CabooseJr for help with the audio and TDA for the footage.

People don’t realize how historical this is lmao. This was the first preview of Naruto to the general masses in the west, just before it became a pop culture monolith
Yea, I remember it hit like overnight. I remember catching naruto and thinking it was okay, but like come the fall, back in school, all the kids were naruto running, a month later, naruto shirts, another month, cards. It was crazy how fast it blew up. Never got past those first episodes toonami showed, but I respect it.
I want his job so badly: watching cartoons and anime on a spaceship. 🤘
Yeah the only draw back is that your life would depend on whether other people watched the same thing

yea back then 2005 cartoon network all ways made my day every time i came home from school sort of like a great child hood with toonami in it

I remember this so vividly, how hyped I was for the Toonami line up. Between Nickelodeon (despite Slime Time Live moving in-doors, and the Slime Time Live Studio going defunct in that year), Cartoon Network and Kids WB, it was truly a great time to be alive
I think Kids WB ended there weekday afternoon lineup in 2005 too🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Every Saturday night watching Bobobo, Zatch Bell, One Piece, and Naruto was my favorite part of the week when I was 6-7

Cannot fricken believe its been exactly 10 years today (5/25/15) since the start of the awesome 05 summer starting with this cool Kickoff speical. God time flies and man shit can change...sigh....ah well lease we got our memories. Old CN ftw! =)

This Takes Me Back In Summer 2005 After 7th Grade & Before 8th GradeMiddle School/JR High School Days When I Was 13 Years Old.
It took them a decade or so after it began, but at least Toonami finally got to air the finale to their first original series.
We had it good.
I think this is when toonami peaked for me. Naruto, One piece, zatch Bell, teen titans, igpx. Then im pretty sure this is when adult swim was playing death note, ghost in the shell, bleach....pretty much peak anime for me ever
Nah Bleach era was like 07-08 I was in like 5th grade when this block aired Bleach was specifically my middle school weeb years I remember them well lol

Death From Above 1979 AND Mastodon as BGM for Toonami. I knew about the latter, but definately didn't know about the former. Also, Peter Cullen NEVER pronounced BoBoBo's show correctly.

This was a big deal for me cuz by that point i was a HUGE mastodon fan n over a year before this a friend told me bout naruto n i wasnt impressed than this came out n i was 17 n was like SOLD ILL TAKE IT been a huge fan of mastodon since that summer i saw them at ozzfest for 17th birthday

I remember this. This was the start of the downfall for me. Tt and justice league unlimited were ok but i never liked the batman.. or igpkx whatever. But when zatch bell and natuto came on it got better.

***** If only the Cartoon Network community cared about preserving these promos and bumpers as much as the Toonami community. According to Jason DeMarco (one of the creators of Toonami), after something that is not a show airs on television, the network obliterates the tape with the material on it.

I really don't like Toonami on Adult Swim. I miss when it was on CN it was way more promo and bumpers back in 2003-06.
lol, no it wasn't. Now bumps switch up every month and we get at least one new promo and/or goodie a week, as well as a new toonami intro thing. Back in the day they liked replayed the same game reviews forever, etc.
