    Genesis G70
The newest member of the class is showing off
As the most affordable Genesis vehicle in the lineup, the G70 has a lot to offer for its $41,500 starting price. The G70 is a five-passenger, four door sport sedan that was first introduced for 2019. Rolling into 2024, the G70 is enhanced with a new 2.5T powertrain, Brembo braking system, and updated interior details. It is available with your choice of two powertrains, RWD or AWD, and an optional Sport Prestige package. Standard is the new 2.5L turbocharged inline four-cylinder that produces 300 horsepower and also available is a 3.3L twin-turbocharged V6 that pushes out 368 horsepower. Pricing starts at $41,500 for the RWD 2.5T, $43,600 for the AWD 2.5T, $49,950 for the RWD 3.3T, and $52,050 for the AWD 3.3T. It’s among the most competitively priced in the class amongst vehicles like the Alfa Romeo Giulia, Audi A4, BMW 3-Series, Lexus IS, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Volvo S60. I spent a week in a G70 3.3T Sport Prestige that checked in at $57,920. As a car enthusiast, cars in this segment have always been a big draw to me and now having driven the G70 for the first time, it's one of my favorites.
The new standard 2.5L turbocharged engine produces 300 HP and 311 lb.-ft of maximum torque. This is an increase of more than 48 HP over the previous 2.0L turbocharged engine, giving G70 the most standard power in its class. Genesis has also equipped all G70 models with a standard 8-speed automatic transmission and high-performance Brembo brakes to ensure strong braking performance. The 2.5T is available with either RWD or AWD and includes five distinct drive modes that automatically adjust the engine, suspension, and steering settings for optimal driving conditions. This base option offers a refined and powerful driving experience for a reasonable price.
Rumors are swirling that the G70 may be on its way out as consumers continue to avoid sedans, which is a shame. This is an impressive car that holds its own and excels compared to some longtime contenders in the class. It performs extremely well with raw power and precision. The design inside and out pays close attention to detail while still being functional. It’s loaded with standard features and priced well for the class. If you’re in the market for a compact luxury sedan, be sure to check this one out while you can. It’s now one of my favorites of the year.

I have a 2023 G70 3.3T AWD Sport Prestige. It's really an absolute pleasure to own and drive, and a fantastic bang for the buck. Also, want to point out that this car is FAST (Relatively speaking of course...I also have an 825hp mustang in the garage). The only reason it isn't even quicker from 0-60, is just like Lexus they nerf the launch because it's incredibly hard on a car and they have a warranty to worry about. So there's a bit of a delay. But once it kicks in you're flying.
