I've had my 2023 G70 3.3t AWD for almost a year now (EverydayDriver's videos were a huge help when I was shopping! Thanks guys!). Can confirm the passenger seat buttons and general interior are wonderful. Ventilated seats are great in the summer. The paddle-shifted automatic with different drive modes took a bit of time to get comfortable with after many years of manual transmissions. The gas mileage is exactly what you'd expect for a heavy, twin-turbo GT car but the handling is excellent despite it. Overall I'm very happy with the G70 because it feels like Genesis is "trying harder" than a lot of other car makers and giving you a better car for the $$$.
Side note: I think a lot of 2.0 liter engines are made in order to fly under tax laws in certain global markets?

I have a 2020 3.3T RWD and absolutely love it! I think Genesis' styling is head of the class across the entire product line, and they get the mix of buttons and screens in the interior just perfect. You guys noted Audi as a comparison, and I used to drive Audis, but so many brands are too touch screen dependent. It's so nice to have analog buttons and knobs for the things that you need to tweak without having to be distracted while scrolling and swiping. Overall the G70 is quick, stylish, luxurious and great to drive. It's a true hidden gem in today's market.

Nice summary. I really wanted the Stinger, but by the time ready to buy the car this last January none left. I really do like the 2.5T and have the non AWD. Genesis puts some real thought into their cars. I especially like the driver access to the passenger seat controls.

This actually might make sense given that it's a new design with not much data upon which to assess its durability. By the time they're commonly available coming off lease we should have a much better idea of whether this engine is a solid design.

I think you guys would enjoy the 2.5 in RWD. I have a 3.3, and had a 2.5 for a couple days when i caught a rock on the freeway and had to get a new windshield.
The lighter front end on the 2.5 is noticeable in turns and feels a little bit more nimble.
The 2.5 has good power but is a bit unresponsive off the line. Until it builds boost and the transmission spins up there is noticeable delay.
The 3.3 is worlds more responsive from a stop.

Great video guys! Bought my 2023 G70 2.0L RWD in December - just before the base engine change. Definitely wish I had more power but the smaller engine is adequate.
The lighter engine and rwd make it super fun to drive and more “chuckable” in the corners. Hopefully there will be a performance hybrid option they drop in the G70 2.5L in the future.
Back space is indeed tight. My 9 year old complains about it 😂
BUT, I did get 2 average sized guys in the back seats on a 20 min drive to lunch and they were comfortable.

Agreed even with all-wheel drive system is not that bad however sometimes in the highway especially when it comes to try to race somebody you do wish you had a little more boost. But then again with the aftermarket support and playing around the computer system you probably can increase that.

I've had a great experience with mine in the first 12,000 miles, but I have a large, good-quality dealer with a car-guy service manager and two car-guy assistant service managers, so they have been great on service so far. I had one as a rental recently. 2.5T AWD, though probably a lower-end trim. I dig it. It feels really nice with all the inputs and is pretty smooth and quiet. The turbo lag was perhaps the only bummer. But it was petty powerful.

  • @BobC777
    @BobC777 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

I recently rented a G70 AWD (2.5L Turbo) and put 1800 miles on it (NC - VT RT). It was great. I didn't even notice the tach direction. Can't remember the last time I had passengers in the back seat so not an issue. The small trunk was an issue but I discovered the rear seats folded so that helps accommodate multiple golf bags. The new 2.5 base engine had all I need. I averaged 34 MPG on my trip. My current car takes regular gas so I didn't like having to pay $0.75 - $1.00/gal. more for premium. The Monroney sticker was in the trunk. This car had NO options and felt very well equiped to me. If I were in the market for a new car the G70 would be at the top of the list.

Proud owner of a 2019 3.3T AWD G70. You're absolutely right about rear leg space; it is tight! I look at this car as more a coupe that happens to have 4 doors. And as you noted, it is a problem for most vehicles in this category. Go sit in a TLX or IS and they're just as bad. But these are SPORT sedans.
And regarding the seats, while I can't speak on the 2.5, every 3.3 has 16-way adjustable seats, including thigh support and bolstering. I found them the most comfortable of all its rivals, excepting the Volvo V60.
Lastly, I agree that the AWD is occasionally unpredictable, which has been disappointing. But the good thing is that the car feels very RWD even w/ AWD, unlike Audis and Acuras. Regardless, these cars are screaming deals, especially used, and have been shown to be much more reliable than the German competition.

A viable alternative to the German market. Awesome segment!
I wonder if the larger displacement will help with longevity of the system. Ie. a 2.5 with 300hp doesn’t have to work as hard as a 2.0 with the same output. Bigger engine= less stress.

I own a 2023. G70 Advance with the 2,0L , very satisfied with the fuel economy, performance ( it offers and that i need), the only annoying issues are the Park button, the HVAC control in the screen for 2023,leg room in the rear seat, the GPS system from factory compared to Google,. I am at over 20,000 kilometers ( 12,000 in the U.S. ) in Canada it comes with a courtesy car and free maintenance for 5 years. The car looks good, rides great, well equipped for the price and decent for regular daily driving person. No négociation on price, includes transport. Question for you. I owned a 2020 Stinger GT2 for 2.5 years. In 2022's crazy market, I sold it for what I'd paid for it. I waited a while for the market to cool down because I worked from home. I bought (my second one) a Golf Alltrack in 2023. My Stinger, in GT2 trim, was probably my favorite car I've owned. I really loved it. I took it on multiple 1000 mile road trips. I've thought about trying to replace it with as low mileage a used one as I can in 2025. By then, the G70 2.5 will also be available as a used car. Would you buy a used Stinger GT2 or a used G70 2.5? The Stinger will be older, but it'll have that delightful 3.3 twin turbo V6. I get that you like the G70 with the 2.5, but is it really nearly as good as that V6?
