Loved the story. This reminded me of another creepy pasta I heard years ago. I don’t know if anyone could help me remember the name, but it was about some guys in the forest and some super tall lanky creatures that come out of a cave but what they find out is that the creatures were originally, I don’t know remember if human or just smaller but they were trapped & couldn’t climb out so only the tall ones reproduced making taller descendents until they were long enough to climb out.

You know, this is a good question. If cryptids do exist then I imagine they're part of an ecosystem. Maybe they keep each other in check. Maybe it works like a game of rock paper scissors between Sasquatch, skinwalkers, and Wendigos.

If this story is real then the crawlers still had to leave the caves sometimes to get food, so Im assuming that the decline in bear population would just have made them more likely to get closer to human habitation. Bears are also nocturnal and crepuscular when they live closer to humans, so if you live in a place where there are still bears you might be more likely to see a crawler during the day than deeper in the wild where bears are more diurnal, which would potentially add to the number of witnesses

There was a 30 mile trail called pinepoint southof holland that has people seeing them as well. Funny this is the trail has been abandoned by the dnr. Anyhow my friend does not venture into the woods anymore without a group of ppl.

Why would effectively large hairless cave primates that evolved out of having intelligence/sentience be considered a societal upheaval? That's like saying crows using cars to run over nuts makes them on par with human intelligence! They're an offshoot that the story even demonstrated lack the ability for basic tool usage or recognition of self in mirrors, so it just kind of threw me for a loop compared to just casually dropping in that native american spirits posessing people is real for the wendigos lmao

Every extinct animal found so far have been confirmed by their fossilized remains! 2. If bears can beat and eat the crawlers, they are on a lower rung on the food chain than bears. How on earth can they even hope to beat humans who eradicated their prime predators? 3. You just cannot call something evil, term it as paranormal, and then add it to the food cycle! Just too many of these inconsistencies...
