as a sportster rider, and someone who stunts his sportster once you figure out wheeling a sportster you can wheelie any dyna, old or new. I have tried it on many bikes. Also its so rewarding to wheelie a harley. Nothing like it at all. People are in awe to watch you do it, but to you its just any other day.
@@dynapic tire choice is huge, gotta make sure you choose a sticky tire. I run a Dunlop 404, or a Shinko 777. Run your tire pressure close to 20 PSI. Try to stay above 20 if you do long distance riding between doing wheelies. Make sure those bars are tight, I slammed my old apes into the tank when I still had mine. Be prepared to replace the factory clutch if your bike still has it. Find a clean empty parking lot or a back road and just get used to dumping the clutch under high RPMS, don’t seat bounce or yank on the bars yet. Just rev it up and dump the clutch. Good chance it’s going to spin the tire. It’s much easier to do it around 10 mph then at a dead stop. It’s most likely not going to pull up the first few times you try it. Once you think you are comfortable with dumping the clutch out, get to about 10 mph and grab a handful of throttle and hover above the seat a few inches and slam down on the seat as you let go of clutch. It’s goin to come up. You can do it on other tires other than a the ones I mentioned but you will get a lot more spinning. If you run a shinko 777, be aware it’s a VERY sticky tire. You will not be spinning much 😂
@@dynapic the tire makes all the difference in the world. You can do wheelies at 20 mph with a shinko if you got enough power adders on a sportster. Also do not try the full throttle snd dump clutch technique on bigger bikes like the dyna lowrider s and such. The big power bikes DO NOT need it 😂
nice vid. I'll never do it, but it's interesting to watch. I use to wheelie the sport bikes in my younger days, and I can honestly say that it was VERY addictive. That feeling of hitting the balance point was awesome. It was like riding on a cloud. I would chase that feeling all over town. Then I looped out....in front of people, of course....Now I have a fat bob. She likes 2 tires on the road at all times. cheers mate!
Props to your wife for not going off on you every time you attempt this. It looks like she is even filming you here. Those are hard to come by, keep her happy. Also, it looks like you have the wheeling technique down well, nice job. And that is one beautiful bike!
I'm just starting my 2009 sportster xl883 low stunt build. I already have a 1275 conversion kit from Hammer Performance 14 inch progressive rear shocks but needing help with fork springs
Bro you look so good even chasing it, and looking at your bike the only thing is add is probably a twisted industries front crash bar (I don't like the bung king one personally) But everything you said is spot on and I love that you're bringing youre personal struggle to us. Suspension wise anything over 12.5" in the rear on most will change the pivot point of the bike enough to make it possible to wheelie, although I normally suggest 13 to 14.5"
Man I'll blast phat 12 o on my zx10.. ripping one one hog is mental!! But if you move the foot to the middle you definitely have a hole different ball game! Awesome content bru!! Stay blasting em
Great video! Really appreciate it. I’m always chasing, need better control to slow it down. My Dyna is soooo dif from my Husky 501 SM. Noticed your body position on the HD should really help me out
Jon, I bet if you adjusted the compression dampening on those rear shocks you wouldn’t need to bounce on the seat. Give it a shot. (Decrease the compression adjustment counter clockwise)
@@JonsMotoGarage hell yea. As long as your preload (sag) is properly adjusted for your weight I have no doubt you can dial in compression and maybe rebound to get it right. You might want to adjust differently for canyon or normal rides but I get the feeling you’re popping wheelies most times you’re on the bike haha
Are you applying brake when you go to scrape? Seems like some dudes scrape and don't really use the brake unless they go too far and others right on the brake
Nice video! Will help a lot of guys. I have the same hatley model. What seat and read suspension model do you use? And you make mods to the front suspension?
great video man. I'm just starting on my journey to stunting. I've rode wheelies on many other bikes pretty naturally for most of my life, so I know I'm ready for a dyna. That's not to say It is going to be a long road, I am sure. I just bought an 06 bob that I will be building into a stunt bike, so I will definitely be checking out your other videos! Loving that blacked out Dyna you got! Keep the shiny side up brother!
Hey bud, first off awesome video TH-cam needs more people like you! I was curious to your handlebar set up , riser height and angle. Did you need to get extended lines also?

Not so much about the tire brand my dude. For wheelies I just lower the pressure in the rear tire. It will grip way better and won’t slide left to right as bad either 👊🏼 good luck
Bars are stock. Risers in this vid were drag specialties 5.5" with slight pull back. Ive since changed them for dynamite crew 6" but actually prefer the drag specialties. They fit me better.
I honestly only started watching your channel to figure out why in the hell anybody would want to wheelie a HD. They are not powerful, well built, or cheap to maintain. Along the way I have learned a lot, and like your family. I still enjoy watching you wheelie, I can't feel my feet and my SV1000S loves to wheelie, I spend most of my time keeping it down. Its like a horny 29 year old! Good launches are an absolute hoot, though. Like being launched out of a slingshot. Reaction times are fun to practice too.
Bro, this is a half decent video..but your experience would put off a lot of other people that want to try. Harleys parts are NOT expensive at all, especially if your based in US. You also need to keep weight in the seat when lifting, don't stand and bounce to pop up, that creates difficulty controlling accelerator once up..
Jon.... great advice.. you had another video where you said you disliked dyna's over the wobble at high speed turns. I kinda scratched my head as you did so many mods but not a 400 dollar front and rear positrac stabilizer, wobble would never be an issue anymore
bullshit, if u can wheelie a sumo u can wheely a dyna... skip the money for a sportster. recently bought a dyna.. surprised how easy it is to pop it up and keep it there with that engine brake. Lol my 81 shovel isn't doing any 12 oClock wheelies no matter what you do to her 🤘
Awesome.... best fender and light is one thats scraped....:-) shows true love and commitment....lol...
Thanks for the shout out my dude!
No matter what you will say in this video, you already made me addicted to those
Great explanation. People think it’s easy. Can’t just do a few things on HD and wheelie.Takes time. God bless. 2 wheels up

My first wheelie bike was my SuperDuke 1290R lol It didn’t wanna stay on two wheels, I’m currently building my 1200 Roadster that I just bought.
Phyched on your progression man💯, you're killing it. Making me want a Harley even more now 😂
I’ve seen some people hook their left foot under the left foot peg, gives them more control / balance.

vmax vid coming very soon. The bike is CRAZY! Thanks, brotha!
The chain conversation helps a lot also

Very cool to watch your progression dude!
Are you doing this on first gear
That 12 o’clock scrape 👌🇦🇺
Damn u rly did some 12 o clock there nice one man, hitting dem nooners :D
Are you applying brake when you go to scrape? Seems like some dudes scrape and don't really use the brake unless they go too far and others right on the brake
You need to put some sliders on there but it looks clean af
Sliders are coming soon! That's why I havent tried any drifting yet. Dont wanna risk it. Lol.
Thank you for the video. Are there any dyna's I should stay away from?
Glad to see that bike will take a good beating have one similar good riding
Not used 2 this bike.... Sec later epic wheelie! Killing it bro
I wish I could do that on my sporties
Love the part where she's like " oh mAn....." referring to the fender! Awesome video man

5:35 ok so my sporty is belt...should i chain?
1st time watching one of your vlogs-liked and subscribed!
See your having an easier time on the smaller dyna! And bro do gold fork tubes on it and remove that fairing
Gold Mx pegs would flow sick w it
Ws9881 jet fuel flo pegs, they’re like a purple gold, what I’ve got on my purple dyna, they’re fresh
Love the color of that bike man
Jon our here hitting dank nooners on the Dyna 🙌🏻
Well that's your problem bro "your never high enough"
You gotta smoke two Doobie's bro! Get a little higher!!
Lmao! Always high on life, but not quite high enough. 🤣🤣
So cool you chose a challenge that takes so much hard work. You're doing it!!! 🤘

Are you riding the rear brake?
Do you place your left foot under the peg once you got her up?
I'm getting in the habit of doing that now that I'm learning hand drags. 👌💯
Is that a TBR Comp-S exhaust?
Killer bro! Your an inspiration, I've been wanting a cheap sportster to learn how to drift and wheelie with. Hopefully some day I can afford one.
I have a 17 fxdls with a 117 kit. My problem when trying to do wheelies is I cannot get the rear to hook at all. What rear tire do you use?

You gots mad friggin skillz homeboy!!!
Well I don't have a Harley or a bike good for wheelies but gonna watch anyway 😂
Happy 4th of July Jon 🎉🎆🍻
What kind and year is that
Don't you need to change your engine oiling system too...???
The progress is real!
Wish I can do half what you do here.
Good advice, I can ride wheelies for miles on dirtbikes and rockets but I'm trying to learn on my dyna, my bars just feel so sketch when it drops lol
wheeling a Harley?...it's like having a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass in a Formula 1 Race
😂
Buell is the way to go if you like wheelies
And how do you see what's on front of you at 12 o'clock??
Here I am worrying about buying a Harley tomorrow with a baby just born last month.. home boy has a full squad of kids in the car😂 Decision made!
