I love it, Boxes at intersections for Scooters, whole families on scooters, the guy carrying all those gas canisters on his scooter and of course have to have 7-11👍 I'm a Harley-Davidson owner, I love all type of motorcycles (motos) I think I need a trip to Taiwan and rent a scooter for a few days.
Fun facts: - Motorcycles under 250cc are classified as “Normal, Heavy Motorcycles” and not allowed to ride in lanes with 「禁行機車」(No Motorcycles) text on the surface of road. It means in the most of roads motorcycles are allowed to ride in rightmost two lanes only. - According to traffic law, if there is「禁行機車」in the innermost lane or “Two-stage left turn” sign are placed in intersection, “Normal Heavy Motorcycles” are forced to make left turn in “Two-stage left turn queue box”. - Most of Taiwanese people believe safest way to ride is ride slow and keep ride in as rightmost as possible. - Taiwanese motorcycle license are too easy to get, most of riders are reckless. - Motorcycles above 250cc are “Heavy Motorcycle”, and it’s allowed to make left-turn in normal way. - All motorcycles are banned from highway. - Most of Taiwanese people believes “Normal, Heavy Motorcycles” making left turn in center of intersection are dangerous. - Taiwanese also believes ride motorcycle in highway are dangerous.
If you thought that most taiwanese are reckless when it comes to riding their motorcycle, try visiting Jakarta. The sheer amount of stress'll be 2x than in taiwan
Once I saw a TV program talking about heavily modified cargo scooter in Taiwan, it has double rear suspension and one big trunk behind the driver, that thing can move around a big refrigerator
Most of Taiwanese taxi driver are rude and driving dangerous, I've been tailgate by taxi several times. they're uncomfortable with motorcycles riding in front of them. Search on TH-cam with keyword "計程車 逼車", you will find some brilliant videos.
I agreed, most taxi drivers in Taiwan just pull over without warning whenever they feel like it cutting people off. I saw some taxi driver in Taipei pull over and wedge a scooter between the car and the curb, the scooter couldn't go forward and the passengers couldn't get out of their door. I was amazed that no one beeped their horn or yelled at each other though.
It is hard to tell. If the taxi cut too much when turning left, it is the taxi driver's fault. But sometimes the scooter didn't stay in the lane and ride and wait on the double lines on the left most lane. In that case, it can be the scooter's driver's fault.
Great video, I found the vehicles of Taiwan fascinating when I lived there on a working holiday visa. I noticed only 2 of the electric Gogoro scooters in your video. Did you notice more of them as they're have 90% of the electric scooter market there and have sold 150000 of them. I rented one in Keelung for a day and had so much fun on it as it had the power of a 125cc scooter but instant torque and more of it. I would also recommend renting a scooter and riding the circumference of the island which takes about 10 days with a few detours. I did it alone staying in hostels on a 125cc Yamaha Cygnus X. I would recommend Thailand as well for for scooter and motorcycles but they have more cars and trucks it seems.
90% is kymco . like Kymco easy ,easy Jr, kymco king, trend Sr, kymco downtown , kymco metca , metica gs, Ventura, but I didn't see kymco dink, grand dik, kymco trend xtr II
