The future of decentralized social media

While it is unclear whether Meta's new Twitter clone, Threads, will provide a viable alternative to X, it undoubtedly has the potential to make significant waves in the realm of social media. While massive changes aren't slated to come immediately to the app, Threads is likely to join the ever-growing list of apps on the Fediverse. This will allow Threads users to interact with others outside of the Threads platform, so long as the platform they are using is also part of the Fediverse.

Let's go web 3, it's time we upgrade from the over censorship of web 2.0. I think that we will need to have viable alternatives to twitter, facebook, youtube, instagram, tiktok, paypal, cashapp, reddit, just to name a few. Once people have made all of those, and people start switching. I think the future is going to be amazing.

The idea of the fediverse is interesting. I was thinking about whether a similar idea could be applied to a company. A federated company so to speak like where a company has an office on each continent and is independently managed the way a particular region feels like. Take Reddit for example, each continent would have their own "federated" version of Reddit that's tailored to that specific region and company in that location while still being connected to those other Reddit server instances.
I think this idea would become even more critical once we become a multiplanetary species in the sense that having a federated company will make more sense than one that's centralized in a single location.

I‘m more than against this decentralized garbage… they say you can interact with other servers but it still feels like you are cut off from everyone else. And why the hell donI have to choose one server? If I choose a gaming one I mostly get gaming stuff but I want to see way more than just that -.- social media should be one place where you can interact and see everything and not just be a dumb facebook group
