Mike Watson I can confirm this. He lived right next to me in Finland and we hung out sometimes. I asked if he really destroyed that whole bottle of vodka just like that. He the bottle was filled with water and he wasn't really all that drunk at all. Just a "buzz".

Apart from that, the only thing I would take issue with in your post is that I have serious doubts that the figure of 3,000 was in any way accurate.

***** Have you ever listened to Bill Hicks? He is the king of satirical comedy. He has somewhat of a passive approach to social issues yes, but his skepticism and willingness to point out the hypocrisy and in some cases stupidity of our government policy or general way of thinking is commendable. To the comment about Bill Hicks, if I were to claim anyone enhanced my life it would prob be Tool which is where I first heard of Bill Hicks. Also, Bill's comment was two fold: 1: For Bill, if you think drugs are so bad that you want to destroy all drugs, then you might as well acknowledge the other effects brought on by drugs as negative as well and burn them, i.e., the music created from overstimulated minds (lets face it not all drug induced creativity is quality but some it is noticeably better than unstimulated).
2: The reference to burning the records reflects the exact action being taken on the drugs. When they seized the drugs they burnt them. Both perspectives are very sarcastic, as if to say, this isn't doing anything and you are missing the bigger picture. Most of his comedy is ranting and complaining but some of it is very challenging. He never actually proposes avenues for change but historically, social skeptics rarely do. The point is to stir up the status quo and force a people to look at society differently. This alone takes courage and brings about change from the acknowledgement of its truth.
Nautilus1972 I agree. Most bands have not enhanced my life. The comment was more comical than anything. Hell, Green Day got me drumming as a 12 year old but Tool inspired me to become good. Music is subjective as a whole. Collectively we can generally agree but to what we agree will still vary. A nice groove, inspiring lyrics, a permanent memory associated to the song? All can be enhancers to life. However, the music itself that is obviously derived from some crazy overly stimulated brain like Led Zeppelin and much of the Beatles is stuff that revolutionized music in its own right.
