That may be a type of apartment quilting. Back in the day, not all newlyweds had enough room to set up a frame So each block would be quilted ,bound and then sewn together! I could see making strips if binding was not easy to afford. It was a practical way to get covers and add color to their lives 🎉❤
I have also seen where each side of the new family contributes parts during engagement that are later joined to represent 2 families coming together and joining. After cinferring with the owner, I'm going to finally get this round tuit and insert a new block into that corner!
