What would you say is the best cabinet to use to mod for raspberry pi? I have big blue, MK 30th anniversary and the simpsons. I am also willing to buy a different one if there is a perfect cab to do it on. Thank you!
Hi, I think this is a good video, but I wanted to know how to actually put the games on the SD card, where do I get the games, and how to put them onto the card? I am new to all this but I would like to try modding my Arcade 1up. I await your earliest response.
4:3 is going to be your best bet. That's what all A1up screens are made for. Depending on what platform you are using after you could try setting aspect ratio to 4:3 but sometimes it'll look a little funny so now there's sometimes an option that says "FULL" for aspect ratio. Try that one out if you have it on your end. I've found that to be a little better on my end. I have a new a1up mod video dropping tomorrow actually. You may enjoy that one seeing the entire process. I not only modded it internally but I fully redesigned the outside as well.
Great video and content. Thanks for your contributions. I always fond of the scroll up Shoot em ups. Like 1942 stuff like that. Ideally I would be playing with a buddy 2p. Is there an ideal 1up arcade cabinet that I should buy to modify and make it work with a Raspberry Pi 4.
Thanks! I'd look at the street fighter or mortal kombat options just because they have a good amount of buttons on the control deck already so it's less work to have to add holes. Those usually are more expensive though for that reason so if you had to go with a cheaper option with less buttons you can always add holes yourself. Other than that though the process is the same regardless of the version you get.
If you want to do a mod on your arcade 1up, which is better that looks and plays like the original arcade games such as Donkey Kong, Arkinoid, Mario brother's ect, a 60 in 1, a rasberry pie or pandoras box? I don't care if it has 10000 games on it, I'm looking for one that has the more traditional games from the arcade like q Bert and alien syndrome, 1942 or donkey kong jr.
@@OfficialChaseBrogan They are cheaply made that's why I didn't want to get one at first but with a budget I wanted to get one. People are selling them on Facebook marketplace fairly cheap but they're already built so I have a hatchback but I don't really want to have to buy a specific cover because I know the paint chips real easy and I don't want it to be like my PS5 controller and be hard to clean
How come they don't make risers for most bartop arcades? Bartop arcades are cheaper than the whole arcade cabinets. I do want to have an entire cabinet some day that has the old style coin receptor door.. Btw, a huge problem is that not all arcade games are in portrait mode (a lot of shooters are..including ms. pacman..).and not all arcade games are in landscape mode. Ideally is to have 2 entire arcade cabinets...one for in portrait mode only..and one in landscape mode only.
They went on sale. Got the simpsons 4 player with riser and light up marquee and mortal kombat 2 no riser for $200 a piece at Walmart, ordered the riser. Which machine should I mod?

@@OfficialChaseBrogan Buy a horizontal monitor cabinet and buy a vertical monitor cabinet. Put a pi in each one. One with vertical games and the other with horizontal games. And you're good to go.👍

Awesome finds! I'd do mortal kombat because you have more buttons than Simpsons. The simpsons would be more work and you'd be tight for space.

For now..just get Pi 3+ if you can..it can run 80% of the arcade games out there..The pi 4 is way too much. it's more than 2x the original price.
