People are so freaked out about pulling into a parking lot after an accident because they don’t want to “disturb the scene” or look like they’re trying to run-but I’ve seen cops chew people out for not doing it and if they’re in a mood, some will write people tickets for obstructing traffic on top of everything else.

I was rear-ended at a stop light by a drunk driver, reeking of liquor one December night. He was slumped over his steering wheel, but okay. My friend and I pushed his car to the side and the drunk’s buddies pulled up. They gave me his insurance info and said they just got out of a Christmas party. A week or so later I called the guy to find out about the insurance and he started yelling and swearing at me!

I mean, I get it. I got hit at a light by some guy in a SUV. And I went to pull into the nearby gas station to exchange insurance information so we didn't block traffic and they just took off. If it happens again, first thing I do will be get out and take a picture of their plate. :\
The lady who backed into him was most likely framing him for a rear end hit and run, you usually automatically get fined for a rear end, hence why she wrote his plate down and drove off. It's an old scam, and God bless you lol

I don't know if you've ever seen it but there is a moving starring Barbara Hershey and Michael Douglas called "Falling Down". You should check it out if you haven't seen it. It's not something you would recommend to one of these unhinged assholes who can shave without cursing their own razor or kick their dogs for being dogs... But it really takes you on a ride.

Hey, pay attention while you are driving! Don’t give that person a reason to follow you, if you ain’t passing get to the right. Nothing worse than a person going less than the speed limit in the passing lane. Worse than that is hitting your brakes when there is a wreck or cop on the other side of the highway you are the problem

Annoyingly, however, over time state & local statutes were poorly drafted (reflecting poor education of the draftees) so that the 2 were constructively merged (thus negating the import of maintaining 2 separate crimes into 1) - assault is the behavioral threat of imminent serious bodily harm - battery is the actual commission of such violence
I agree there's typically no jail time for causing the accident since none of them caused anyone to be seriously injured but I did think that you went to jail for leaving the scene of an accident? And technically he left the scene of 5 accidents..
