Very honest. These days there are so many cameras luts and post colour tools and spending that kind of money feels pretty ridiculous. It’s really not a magic wand though it does output as a Lut very easily and if you want to sell digital products such as luts it’s a logical investment in that sense. I’m not sure but grading your picture first with a LUT is really allowing dehancer to breath and I think it does take some commitment to the emulation as the priority to make it worth while and sing. Thanks for the video and a very honest review.
kinda agree. These are tools for beginners who are just overwhelmed with the grading aspect. I can see why these tools are popular. at $399 it's very pricey. I did buy FilmConvert Nitrate during their Black Friday sale and paid less than $100
@@stoolin9706 I hear that. Appreciate the input and yeah I am not the most aware about how many other things are out there like it at the moment. That sounds like a great deal on FilmConvert!
Hey Blase, love your work, bought your f log luts yesterday, they are amazing! But i recognised one problem, could you help me, when i export my video it hits different when i transfer it to my phone, im talking about colors, on my pc its more tinted than on the phone. And when i do color transformation rec 709 fuji film f log and gamma 2.4 i can not really fit lut on it… I hope you did understand what my problem is. I am from Serbia and love your work, keep goin’!
@@nenadtrisic9649 if you are on mac, you will want to make sure and use rec709a - several of my videos about color grading talk through my settings before getting into grading. if you have more questions feel free to email me
I love this video, especially the suggestions you make near the end. You are addressing a few things that I think Dehancer is lacking or needs upgrades to or that would just make it a bit more attractive for its price. As a Dehancer owner (both for video and photography), I was quite excited when I started using it but it lacks a bit of those basic controls I wish I had to create an image that's my own and not just a perfect representation of what it would be on film. It costs the price of a software but remained as a plugin/add-on in my workflow. I was kind of hoping for more. Also performance wise, I don't know what you're editing with but from my experience, you kinda need a 5k$ computer to get smooth playback with Dehancer. The grain plugin is quite demanding. It's still very nice but it's too expensive for what it is at the moment. I still think it's a far better tool than FilmConvert's Nitrate to me, not even close.
Really love this feedback. Glad to hear the review resonated with an experienced user of Dehancer. And yeah my M1 Pro was struggling with playback for sure. Forgot to mention that as I sorta expected that with external fx. Thanks so much for sharing!
Great review!
thanks!
