- Dubai Gold Souk or Gold Souk (Arabic: سوق الذهب), is a traditional market (or souk) in Dubai, UAE. The souk is located in Dubai's commercial business district in Deira, in the locality of Al Dhagaya. The souk consists of over 380 retailers[1], most of whom are jewelry traders. Some of the shops are as old as four decades,[2]while some are as new as a year. The major items of mall includes Gold, Platinum, Diamonds and sometimes also deals in silver.[3]
Dubai Gold Souk is bordered to the north by the Dubai Fish and Vegetable Market and the Deira Corniche near Baniyas Square at Sikkat al-Khali Street which is in close proximity to the Deira Bus Stand. On the other side of the Dubai Creek lies Dubai Textile Souk.[4][5][6]

Gold has a different meaning, depending upon where you are. Older traditions tend to value it more. To prepare for an invasion/occupation, during WW2, my grandmother bought a bracelet, with detachable 'units' of gold. When she needed to buy food for her family and relatives, she would break off a part of her bracelet and give it to the merchant. Used to beat cash in a pinch but doesn't beat credit card. And yet, here we are, looking at a Gold Souk in dubai on TH-cam. That's why you kinda have to wonder if gold and silver and platinum is, somehow, part of religion in this inseparable way, like steel and iron and gems.
