Yeah, they're good ambassadors and people respond in kind. Best way to get support for the sport is for people on the street to learn where the limits really are. Granted it takes a lot of practice to get to the apex, but so do most sports.
I don't free run, but I skate, and I'm fairly confident in my body limits. That's the key to being safe, don't attempt things way out of your depth and build on things incrementally.

Another excellent video and this time on a stretch of the river I know well.The post by the bridge where the amateur guy attempted the jump is one of my favorite swims on the river Thames to fish and is a lovely spot unless you have a party of folks on the other side like in your film.

I love old people who can be chill and just let people be. That old dude was cool.
I don’t understand why people complain about parkour, skateboarding and other sports when people aren’t hurting anyone or damaging anything.
These videos are proof that it brings joy and excitement to the area, locals crowd around to watch and it makes people happy, and it’s just a group of people doing what you’re supposed to do in a city… live and enjoy it and use it!
Modern society has developed this bizarre concept that outdoors and public spaces are purely for transit. Leave your home, go where you’re going and get inside. Grumpy people get so weird about seeing people just out to enjoy the town, sitting around, hanging out, swimming, fishing… whatever.. it just bothers those assholes for some reason. Public spaces are supposed to be for community enjoyment and living! Why bother live in a city if you’re just going to hide in your home and never go any further than the inside of your car, the inside of a shop, the inside of your work, and back inside your home.. get out! Enjoy the world! Explore a bit, have a picnic somewhere weird, walk along some train tracks, jump off a bridge… LIVE A BIT!
I honestly feel bad for people who live their lives as a Karen.. how miserable and lonely their lives must be, just constantly annoyed and irritable and miserable. I pity those horrible creatures.
