    You have an incredible amount of patience.

      Not so much patience as my drive for perfection that drives me nuts. I"m crazy to pull things apart just to make them a little better.

    Hello again!! I wanted to thank you for doing this video. After watching it over and over several times, I got the courage to attempt redoing the rear window on my 69 Camaro. I was able to achieve window perfection after 2 times and install the trunk liner the original installer forgot. The key is arming up the interior, I used two 1500W heaters which made it very easy to stretch the window and top. Looks Great thanks for your help and God Bless!!

      Wonderful! I'm so glad that my video has helped you. Great tip placing the heater inside to warm it all up. Congratulations on doing it yourself for pride and bragging rights, and you have now have a trunk liner. Thank you for the note.

    I am so on the fence as to whether or not I should attempt this great & laborious endeavor. Between you & of course your TH-cam video; there is also a step by step still photo enhanced instructional guide on “Team Camaro.” To try to do it myself, or not to try to do it myself? That is the question. To suffer the slings & arrows of endless back window & back corners adjustments or to just pay a professional? That, is the question. As of yet, I have no answer.

      I'll add one more twist to your balancing act, I paid someone to do a top for me and it did not fit as well as it could, so I ended up redoing the back area. As the saying goes, "if you want it done right, you may have to do it yourself".

    Great to see some more Ride Rescue video! I followed all the Skylark episodes since I'm working on a 64 Skylark Convert myself. Now you are showing me how to do the top. BTW I replaced S/L valve covers with Range Rover cast aluminum ones I found on ebay...like you did. Keep up the good work.

    What size staples do you use? Also, did you replace the small tack strips on the header bow for the pads? I can't seem to find them anywhere. Thanks!

    • @riderescue

      I use both half inch and 3/4 inch staples. I have been fortunate that the front header tack strips have been good on all the tops I have done. I don't know where to purchase those either.

    it seems it is better just to replace the whole top

    • @riderescue
      @riderescue  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you just need the rear window it is a lot of work to pull back the top. The complete top kits are not that much more so, yes, most of the time it makes sense to replace the top and pads too.

    Thanks for the excellent video 👍! I am about to have my 69 Firebird done by an installer. What are your thoughts on the option of a glass rear window vs the plastic as far as longevity.

    • @riderescue
      @riderescue  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have often wondered the same thing about the glass longevity. I have never done one nor have I ever seen one on a first generation Camaro / Firebird. The vinyl windows do scratch, yellow and wrinkle so I would do glass.
