    Yet Dermalogica doesn't tell you to use it this way. I had a bottle of this stuff years ago and I remember it telling you to do what you just said was the wrong way (except you lather up the product more before applying it onto your skin). It's supposed to be an exfoliant, not a whipped foam.
    Here are the directions for this product from Dermalogica's own website:
    "Dispense about a half-teaspoon of Daily Microfoliant® into very wet hands and create a creamy paste by rubbing hands together. Apply to face in circular motions, avoiding the eye area. Massage gently for one minute, then rinse thoroughly. Follow with Multi-Active Toner or UltraCalming Mist and prescribed Dermalogica Moisturizer."
    So, no wonder people don't put it into a bowl and use a fan brush to whip it up; the company itself never said to use it that way. So how would people know otherwise?

      @@dallasoch the OP comment said it did, and honestly i would avoid the eye area with any products that arent specifically made for it just cause the eye skin is such a sensitive area. Ive also heard you can get “milia” around your eye from using products not meant for that area which arent harmful but they basically look like little pimples next to your eyes and they stay there for like, months and months. I have gotten them before from using non-eye specific moisturizer and i thought i was gonna have them for life until they just went away one day

    Hmmm idk. I like using it the first way because it actually scrubs away dead skin, flakes, and old acne scabs and leaves my skin soft and smooth. If I were to make it a foam like this it probably wouldn’t have the texture necessary to scrub like that.

    • @pinkiepie6880

      You're absolutely right! In fact, you are using it the way Dermalogica intended; apply half a teaspoon to wet hands, lather then apply to face in circular motions.

    • @chaoswitch1974

      You don't need to scrub. It's the chemicals that do the exfoliation and it's gentler on you skin. But you do you. I personally dislike scrubs and prefer chemical exfoliation. I feel like scrubs often get trapped in my pores.

    • @theeditor1149
      @theeditor1149 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Info from the dermalogica website: « how to use it?
    After double cleaning, every 2/3 days (or even once a week for sensitive skin), pour a teaspoon of Daily Microfoliant into the palm of previously moistened hands. Add a little water and lather by rubbing your hands against each other to obtain a fine foam with few grains. Apply to the face with circular movements, avoiding the eye area. Massage gently for a minute, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Continue with a tonic, a targeted care/serum and a Dermalogica moisturizer recommended for your skin type. « so be careful not to use it on and around the eyes!!! In addition, no need for a bowl in the palm of the hand, it’s very good too since it’s a chemical AND mechanical scrub 😊

      It's not the wrong way. Why would you think a TH-cam Esthetician would know more about a product than the company who makes it?
      It literally says on the packaging and on their website to do it like this:
      Dispense about a half-teaspoon of Daily Microfoliant® into very wet hands and create a creamy paste by rubbing hands together. Apply to face in circular motions, avoiding the eye area. Massage gently for one minute, then rinse thoroughly. Follow with Multi-Active Toner or UltraCalming Mist and prescribed Dermalogica Moisturizer.

    Thanks for the video. I put the powder or in my hand and at some water. I then rub it over my face. Yes, it was grainy. I didn’t realize it was supposed to foam up. When I get my facials, I realize, after watching your video, that the microfoliant feels foamy. I thought it was a different product.

      I have no idea why she's telling people to do it this way when it literally says on the packaging and Dermalogica's website to apply half a teaspoon to wet hands, lather then apply to the face and rub in circular motions. The way she's showing is wasteful and won't give the full exfoliating benefits of the product 🙄

    I've used the daily microfoliant for years now, the key is to leave it on for a few minutes and you dont need to do all this and make life harder for yourself. Had to say that watching how you just generously poured it into a bowl like that made me tear up because the original size of the product costs over R1000 in South Africa which is so expensive and out of many people's budgets so watching you shake it like a salt shaker made me tear up. I buy the smaller bottle which is still expensive but I treat it like gold and I dont waste any of it or use too much because you don't need that much. It lasts for months (dont let water get into it though). Also the method directed by dermologica works for me, people complaining that it's itchy, chunky etc have sensory issues that are not related to the product. Use it as directed or add it to a mild face wash and leave it on for a minute or two to see its full effects. It's a good product that's worth the price, if anyone is thinking of getting it, but you don't need all this drama with the bowl and fanbrush. The world of skincare is already so complicated and there are so many products and ways to use them, this one is not one of those products.
