They got the premiere thing up right now, for the cinematic trailer. Just in case people didn't see it from Ubisoft, I hope it will be good - people have been hoping for a game setting like this for ages. 💯

This street is near Tsutenkaku Tower in Osaka (you can see tower behind the hourglass). But the Fugu puffer fish sign, advertising for Zuboraya restaurant (known from the Yakuza game series) does not exist anymore!

Shadow in Japanese is 影 (kage). It can also be used as a euphemism (albeit a bit of an archaic one) for shinobi (忍び - lit. 'one who sneaks'), considering they're meant to move in the _shadows,_ and all.
Recall that the game was stated verbatim to focus on the shinobi fantasy when it was revealed for the first time at Ubisoft Forward 2022. It's also going to be set just during the climax Sengoku Period, and this is one of the time period when the shinobi were known to be most active in.
It's also why Sekiro's subtitle is _Shadows Die Twice-_ because it's about a _shadow (shinobi)_ using his ability to resurrect.

Biggest problem is how it's gonna be compared to ghost of tsushima, which it most likely won't top. Ironically the changes they could make, which would put it on par with ghost of tsushima would be to have less of the ubisoft elements that made ghost of tsushima less good.
