Totally agree. I came to the same conclusion at the end of 2023 and decided this year to not participate. I also agree that it's very enjoyable seeing what others plan and whether their plans come to fruition. I find that I am a very spontaneous maker, so that what I feel like sewing when the need to sew comes, often trumps any plans I've made. I've also noticed that, the patterns that I dwell too much on often tend to get put aside for ones that, while I do own them, I've overlooked for a long time, and suddenly they are exactly what I want to be making and wearing. So funny. Anyway, not sure if that made sense, but all that to say, I'm with you. But your make 9 success this year is admirable and you've made some really beautiful, quality garments that you'll have for a very long time. Which is the end goal, right?! Awesome!
That makes total sense to me! I think being open to change is a big part of the creative process as well. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience 🤍
I always appreciate some reflections about our makes and plans. I also like to watch/ learn about alterations, mending and things that didn’t work out (and why) in the end. I‘m currently planing my spring and summer makes of 2025. 🎉
Thanks :) I have a couple of projects that haven’t quite worked out recently haha maybe I’ll make that a video soon. Exciting to be planning for the new year!
Love all of your makes especially the red vest. Color looks lovely on you. I appreciate the make 9 concept but, think it’s more practical, for me, to plan seasonally or not at all. Love that you are intentional in the thought and process of your makes. You inspire me to be more like that.
I have done a make nine twice in the past and failed both times! The first time I decided to do two, one knitting and one sewing. I had a limited collection of sewing patterns when I compiled the sewing one, and my tastes changed over the year, as my collection grew! The following year I did a single one covering both crafts and wasn't specific about the patterns. But that went by the board too and I only completed a couple of things! Since then I haven't wanted to make firm plans about sewing, but I might consider it as a way to get things started!

@@Rebecca_Good This would be lovely. I always try to learn and improve my knitting and sewing.

Thank you so much! I agree planning by season or just letting what inspires guide you is a good way to go :)
I really enjoyed your beautiful thoughts on different projects😘
Thanks! It was fun to reflect on the year.
I really enjoyed your reflections and you made some beautiful pieces 💛
Thank you 🤍

Yes I think being more flexible and open to what inspires you through out the year makes a lot of sense :)
Lovely make nine lists you have. Will you have one for next year as well? ❤❤❤
Thanks! I’m not sure still thinking about it :)
