The late Sean Lock is someone you should have a look for, especially his 8 Out Of 10 Cats ones and 8 Out Of 10 Cat's do Countdown. Frankie Boyle is another good one, look at his older stuff before he went woke. The Michael Jackson hospital one is a famous one, also the K.I.T.T and Night Rider one.
The problem with comics like JC, & the USA, is that Americans in general, take everything literally! Each joke, each punchline, has to be broken down and analysed to the n'th degree, & that's not what stand-up is about. You're supposed to listen, learn, laugh, but NOT dissect each phrase, otherwise you'll just miss the next gag completely! Just let it all wash over you, then do your analysis when you get home🤣
