    Good job. TC. I really like your comments about Pommel Strikes! "If I run over my knife with a Steam Roller the lock fails!" Some of the things people do to test locks on knives are totally absurd. Same with the Folks who use their ESEE for target practice or drop it in a vat of acid and then say "Ha Ha, ESEE your knife broke" You can break any knife if you try hard enough.

      Its impossible to disengage that lock with a pommel strike. No matter how hard you hit that thing. Scientifically it's not possible... and I have never even seen the axis lock up close.

    I don’t think Benchmade voids a warranty because you take it apart anymore . I sent a 945 with stripped screws and they didn’t question anything, fixed it and sent it back

    • @SMKWcom
      @SMKWcom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Always double-check with a manufacturer before doing any work yourself as it may void the warranty

    • @yonallb
      @yonallb 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just bought a 940, the documentation says taking it apart will void the warranty. They were probably being nice, probably could have refused.

      Bought a Freek and a 940 Osborne about a week ago. The documentation that came with both said it does void the warranty.

    I think axis locks are cool. I figured it would be ideal for someone with hand issues, but noooo. I’ve tried axis and button locks, frame and liner locks, thumb studs, flippers, Spydie holes and front flippers - and what works for me is the standard and rather pedestrian flipper tab and liner lock. What’s great is that there are so many options on knives now. Try them all! But remember your knife is not a hammer.

    5:49 Agreed. Someone might ask “What if I’m in a boxing match with a bear?” Yeah buddy, you have bigger problems to worry about. Don’t show up to a bear fight with a lightweight folding knife.

    Love the reaction to the idiot who uses his folder like a hammer. Reminds me of the TH-cam knife experts that review a "folding knife's" durability by batoning wood with it!!?? Every knife is designed with a specific useful purpose and has it's own limits. It's a tool like any other tool. Like he says in the video, use the knife in the way it's meant to be used. Plain and simple folks. Your folding knives are for cutting tasks not prying open a rusty old car door!!

    • @disturbedlife5691
      @disturbedlife5691 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The very bottom of the knife handle. Some models, like the Bedlam have a steel pommel extending past the handle scales for non lethal strikes.
