  • Pinakbet Ilocano is the original version of Pinakbet. This video shows how to cook this dish by simply boiling all the ingredients.

    The vegetables that make-up this dish are commonly grown in one's back yard. People tend to pluck available vegetables when needed.
    The addition of bagnet is the highlight for me. While the flavors of the vegetables are good, bagnet makes the entire dish taste better.

    Ilocana here. Sibuyas, luya at kamatis po una pinakukulo. Pag nadurog na kamatis. Saka po lalagyan ng bagoong isda at Bagnet para lumasa sa sabaw yung lasang chicharon. Saka pa lang kamote at susunod yung ibang gulay. Yung may gusto ng krispy yung bagnet, lalagyan na lang ng dagdag upon serving.

    I am an Ilocano. I remember lola Trining an Ilocano, cooking pinakbet. ''Pinakbet'' came from the word ''pinakibot'' meaning '' to shrink''. So, hindi ginigisa ang Ilocano Pinakbet. We put all the vegetables in one pot and on top of it nandoon na yung pinalutong na pork with onions and bagoong isda. Hahayaan mo sya na mag water by itself. Also, ang Ilocanong pinakbet wala po itong Kalabasa. Sa Ilocano, kapag nilagyan ng kalabasa ang pinakbet ''bulanglang'' na po ang tawag dito.

    Nkakamiss nmn ang paborito kong ulam,lge niluluto ng lola ko yn..pro inihaw or pritong tilapia and bangus ang favorite kong halo nyan..proud ilokana here hihi..thnx for the tutorial.

    naimas a talaga ti pinakbet nu adda ti bagnet na. ngem kurang ti nateng ti niluto na. adu ti nadumaduma a nateng a rumbeng.

    Sa US wala ako Makita sitaw, ano po pwedi? Green beans? Salamat sa mga video mo. For a working dad, mahirap sakin magluto pero dahil sayo natutu ako. U make it so simple at masarap talaga.

    Pag ihalo mo kasi right away ay hindigreen at hindi soft ang mga gulay. (Kumudiser in ilocano). Now you know na pakbet ang name ang lutong yan. Pakebbet means pakulubutin kaya slow fire.

    Parang dinengdeng na may bagnet. Iba ang pagkaluto. Hindi ba igigisa muna ang bawang, sibuyas, luya, kamatis at bagnet saka ilagay ang kamote then mga gulay?

      Oo sabay sabay sabay pero dapat naman ay iginisa mo muna ang bawang sibuyas luya at kamatis.

      Hindi rin hinahalo na gaya ng ginagawa mo kc hindi magiging pakbet ang talong (pakebbet means kulubot).basta pakuluan lang hanggang maluto ang mga gulay na nasa ibabaw ang mga ingredients then shake na nakatakip pag luto na. Slow fire pa para kumulubot ang talong (pakebbek).yan ang tunay na ibig sabihin nga pakbet. Masmasarap pa kung patani ang ilagay kesa kamote.
