    Found out my car won't start at midnight. Your first video saved me an hour, this one saved me a week.

    Dude - if it weren't for your video I would not have even attempted to fix or replace my ignition, for this exact make and model. I pulled out all my wafers, still nothing. My ignition was completely jacked up, I don't even know how to explain it. I tested a second key I had and it still didn't work. But because of you, I had the knowledge and confidence to replace the ignition with a new one I got at a parts store. You saved me hundreds! I didn't have to tow it or leave my car with the mechanic for who knows how long. Can't thank you enough sir. This little video saved me major headache 👍🏼😎

      Hi, when u replaced with a new ignition cylinder and key, did u have 2 have the new key programmed, or is it just a plug and play module?

      Hahaha I’m also currently stuck in the Walmart parking lot! I just left it though because it happened for me super late at night and I was exhausted.
      This comment section is the best in helping me, and so much similarities in my situation. Thanks for sharing your experience too. I just got this car 4 1/2 days ago, so time to learn about it , I guess. 😂

    Thanks for making the best video on TH-cam on the Kia ignition switch. I followed your steps on a 2009 Kia Rio and it was the same for the most part except that little indent button that holds the ignition switch in the housing is on the opposite side of the housing.

    I've got Kia Ceed MK1 with sticky ignition. I sometimes have to back the ignition barrel after taking out my key to make the clicking noise, otherwise my car thinks key is in ignition and car won't lock with fob.
    I've followed the instructions online of taking out the barrel and greasing, twice, once with Lithium grease and second time with graphite powder. But after a day or so it starts sticking again.
    What's your suggestion to fix this annoying problem?

    This is merely a temporary solution to get the car running but the problem will arise sooner rather than later. I understand some customers want the cheapest option and you have given them exactly that.

    Throwing out bent wafers is just cheap. It will eventually cause the key, which us the real cause of the problem, to enter the keyway out alignment and bend the few remaining wafers left. to Get a Hyundai pinning kit and replace all the wafers. Since your seeing it quite a bit more. Just creating a job that a locksmith will have to fix properly later. The key being worn and probably bent was the cause of the problem. The key needs to be recut FROM CODE, NOT DUPLICATED. And the cylinder properly pinned with wafers to the correct depth if the keys depths. The wafers near the fron that you hyst pukk out and throw away cause they look kinda rough. That's being caused by the worn key. Switch will eventually nsm again . You ain't fixed nothing. You have created additional work for future college fund.

      sir this was an ignition where the customer refused to purchase a new key and we agreed on the price with no warranty on the repair. The tag on the key was on the supplied key from the dealer. I should have pointed that out for the viewers.

    I have a 2007 Kia rio 5. And my ignition is wore out. I can turn the key and start the car, but I have to turn the key back once it starts. It wants to stay engaged. Is this video the same as my 2007

    hello i have a kia ceed 2010 in which the mechanism for the steering lock doesnt engage when i pull out the key from the ignition. Giving a little tap at the bottom of the steering wheel makes the poping sound with which the steering lock engages. The disadvamtage of this is that the car thinks that the keynis still in the ignition so my remote control of the car wont work. I tried lubricating the cylinder with liquid grease sprey and wd40 but it didnt work. Does somebody have any suggestions? Thanks im advance.

    • @Jbonn6141
      @Jbonn6141 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the exact same issue. Even when turning the key to off and removing the key, the remote locking unlocking won't work unless you push the trim around the ignition switch. Once I hear a click, something engages and my remote locking works

    • @abdussamed107
      @abdussamed107 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jbonn6141 i found a solution for that problem. A technician can fix the problem by lubricating and fixing the inside of the cylinder. Or replacing the cylinder. Lubrication without disassembly isnt possible.
