I didnt see that you replaced that reversed torx or the screw on top. Maybe you did but just didnt show it. I try to do things i need to get done and do myself. 70 here. Lol . When ibought this car last year 2005 lesabre custom its needed a few things. It came with only 1 key. Since visiting local junk yard I've seen cars that have 2 keys and the little black piece to open and close, I was thinking of changing one of those to my car. Now not sure because they are not same year or maybe different model buick. I also need a piece that is behind the trim where you turn on air conditioner. It looks like someone already had the steering wheel cover off and didn't replace properly. Any help from anyone appreciated

I cant pop out the cylinder i tried pushing in the pin on the side and i wont come out anyone know how you were able to do it?

Do you give Tech support? I don't want to mess this up. Currently, the "Smart" key in the car works it just pulls out in any position and the steering no longer locks.

That black piece does not come off nice and easy, i broke it in several places and it's still not coming off

Your video helped me to get the top cover off my steering column. 3:16 I used a 4mm socket to remove that reverse torx bolt. Thank you for showing this. Other videos don't. You saved many of us a lot of head aches.

DONT BUY THE CHEAP AMAZON ONE. PITA to install, and after a month or will fail to turn due the cap wont pop out from last time you put the key out of the cylinder. Buy the doorman instead. 20$ more.

I've got Kia Ceed MK1 with sticky ignition. I sometimes have to back the ignition barrel after taking out my key to make the clicking noise, otherwise my car thinks key is in ignition and car won't lock with fob. I've followed the instructions online of taking out the barrel and greasing, twice, once with Lithium grease and second time with graphite powder. But after a day or so it starts sticking again. What's your suggestion to fix this annoying problem?

Thanks for making the best video on TH-cam on the Kia ignition switch. I followed your steps on a 2009 Kia Rio and it was the same for the most part except that little indent button that holds the ignition switch in the housing is on the opposite side of the housing.

So, you just leave out the wafers you removed and re-install? Won't that compromise the cylinder so the use of any other key will operate the lock cylinder?

I have a 2000 LeSabre where the key can be removed from the ignition in any position. Yet the ignition can't be turned without the key inserted. It might be caused by a sidebar that is partially worn down, enough to allow the key to be removed in any position but not enough that that the ignition can turned without the key. Or the metal barrel in the steering column that the cylinder fits into is worn down and allowing the sidebar to relax in any position. Any thoughts for a remedy that a DIYer could do?

Instead use a tryout key to rake it.

I did the same thing inought a steering column and took the job the ignition out from one put it in the other and nothing won to crank...do I need to reset the system

I noticed that you were able to program two keys by cycling them back in after you had erased all keys. Will that work with other programmers? I usually do not erase keys; I usually start by adding a key. There is usually a 10-minute wait with most Fords. I am wondering if it would be better to say All Keys Lost?

What if you can't get it to turn to acc though? I've got one of these damn cars & I can't get the key to turn , but i have two of them - I don't think it's the fkn key. These hyindais have weird ignition issues where like 3 or 4 different things can keep the fucking key from turning. It's drivin me insane! I JUST need to turn the fkn key for christs sake - It's been 3 weeks of bangin my head against this P.O.S. Im about to set the fucker on fire I need some help. BUt i don't have any cheese right now. (A car would help - )
