Yeah lessons with Eric Clapton would have done it.
I figured out the Iron Man solo at 15, by slowing the record to “16”. The notes were all the same but an octave lower. Most don’t have that option these days. Of course it was a fairly frustrating method and not great for your album lol
With Black Sabbath and old bands like them, most of the time the solos are improvised because they just jammed. Learn the main idea of it, you don’t got to play it note for note, Tony Iommi doesn’t even play that solo like the record
Only the innocence of a child can be that oblivious to the greatness of her audience. She's still a child and enjoying the moment. I bet her parents are like "Holy S***, thats Clapton" and stutter like a fool. Pure Enjoyment. Good is good, this was Great!
Only Clapton can be with any band singer whether playing the guitar or singing regardless of what musical genre they make. Versatile and can go with anybody. And he does not take the limelight out of any artist away.
that's quite true. Eric played lead guitar on Roger Waters' "pros and cons of hitch hiking" album and then when we got to the concert, there was Eric on lead guitar. but he wasn't "Eric Clapton, star of the show"...he was just the lead guitarist in Roger's band and you could tell he loved that role. and he didn't have to worry about carrying the whole show...he could just play.

Same here. For so long I loved the unplugged album and this song and then when my 2 year old son passed 4 years ago the album mainly circus and tears in heaven would cut me to the core when playing. Some days was too hard to listen to and as I type this it's hard to think ab but I do everyday. I want to play the song live but I still can't get through it without losing it. Maybe one day. I also wonder what my son would be like now. That's all we can do. Peace to you and your family

I will always have the weight of being unable to meet Eric Clapton over my shoulders, i know someday he will not be here with us but him as a person, as musician and his soulful way of playing changed my life in an integral way.

@@LDCoronel1 Luis, I used to live in Guildford not far from Eric's village of Ewhurst.I used to go to a pub near his house and one day he came in.I got talking to him but didn't let him know I recognized him.Over the next year or so, I met him 3 or 4 times, he was always polite and friendly but to my regret I never talked about music, we just talked about football and his new jeep.This would have been 1981.
Clapton's old memories would have suddenly return back after hearing it.

Has to be bittersweet. He wrote that song for his son… now Eric is older… a young boy comes along and plays this song for Eric… must make him tear up a bit. And also smile… such a sweet moment to be captured ..
Okay, I’ve been playing the piano for 67 years, this 5 year old is incredibly onto it. While she isn’t doing a carbon copy of the original like the recording we are so used to running in our minds, the key takeout bit is from a chordal and relative perspective of where the main bits of the composition fit, this child has it nailed. In the quest to play the riffs, she ‘can’t be bothered’ getting the delivery perfect, and for some who don’t play an instrument, you may struggle to understand what I’m referring to. This 5 year old is on a mission to show Eric what they can do and Eric has rightly ceased his strumming to take on how good this is. By the way, unlike most pop songs where the extent of chords runs to 3 or 4 strung together over the entire thing, this composition has some tasty and technical progressions. Great stuff, you play very well and I wish you very success for your future.

Don't think that way. Eric was probably having many emotions running through but this shouldn't be anything negative. It's a positive thing happening. I'm sure Eric has managed to cope with the traumatic event that happened to his baby boy so many years ago.

Still can't. I LOVE music (its always on in the background) But I have NO Talent when it comes to playing. It took me 10 years to realize that. There are many things I can do. Playing a musical instrument is NOT ONE OF THEM.
