USHAW FARM

Grade II* Victorian “model” farm built by Catholic college abandoned in 2002 but now leased to a Trust who hope to give it new life as a Heritage Skills Institute.
These farm buildings were once at the centre of the nearby Ushaw College Catholic seminary's farming activities. It was built in the mid 1800's and remained in use by the college until 1972. After that, the site was let to a farm holding until 2002, since when the farm buildings have stood empty.
The site was added to English Heritage’s Heritage at Risk Register in 2013.
As things stand, the site has been leased to the North of England Civic Trust and they are looking at the possibility of developing the site to establish Heritage Skills Institute.
