METROID DREAD
Join bounty hunter Samus Aran as she tries to escape a deadly alien world plagued by a mechanical menace. Upon investigating a mysterious transmission on Planet ZDR, Samus faces a mysterious foe that traps her in this dangerous world. The remote planet has been overrun by vicious alien lifeforms and murderous robots called E.M.M.I. Hunt or be hunted as you make your way through a labyrinth of enemies in Samus’ most intense side-scrolling adventure yet. Samus is more agile and capable than ever. Guide Samus Aran, an intergalactic bounty hunter raised by an ancient tribe, and traverse the many environments of a dangerous world. Parkour over obstacles, slide through tight spaces, counter enemies, and battle your way through the planet. Through her countless missions, Samus has never experienced a threat like the dread of ZDR. Power up and find more ways to explore and secrets to uncover. Gain abilities and return to previous areas to find new areas and hidden upgrades in classic Metroid gameplay. Planet ZDR’s sprawling map is home to many secrets to discover and powers to find. I remembered that you could parry at the right moment when the light flashes and stun the E.M.M.I and slide under it the entire video I’m sure I wasn’t the only one but it boggles my mind how it’s said directly to people and they don’t remember it. But I think he was more focused on playing the game and commentary
@@isquack4592 To be fair, though, it is EXTREMELY difficult to parry an E.M.M.I.. The timing is very tiny, so even if you know you can parry them, good freaking luck actually doing so!

Actually it’s not at all important. Search every room, yes, but revealing every single square on the map just takes up time.

Obviously Zack didn't read very much about EMMIs before starting the game. That was funny watching the first encounter.

Gotta love how what Samus does in the cutscene battle with Raven Beak hits to what to do during the actual fight, I.e. ducking the red blast only to follow with a counter, the missiles actually damaging him, etc.
Do the missiles hurt him when he’s golden
@@sadsandwich_5 No, if you dont deal enough damage in one "cycle" then it turns gold and nullifies all damage, meaning you need to do a counter sequence so his shield drops and you can damage him

Encountering EMMIs remind me of when u first encounter a guardian in BOTW, ur absolutely terrifying
This is the one game series that you WANT to get everything because it is going to be a hell show if you don't. It's like a harder version of the Ratchet and Clank games if you will.
i think in the newer form of the game, they start making it easier to know there a hidden item in a spot.

Hey Zach the Yellow little flashes mean you can counter and attack and do more damage, even for bosses
Yeah it kind of sucks that a lot of people aren't utilizing the Parry like for this first boss it makes samus look even more badass

Ok who wants to guess how far he’ll get into this game before he resorts back to his usual torpor of endless PvZ, Fortnite, Mario Kart? My guess is 8 episodes…
8 1 hour episodes is basically the game. This one’s about 8-9 hours

I don't know...It seems to be doing better than Mario Kart Tour.
The problem is, and this isn’t really Zack’s fault, a majority of his audience is younger kids to preteens who all likely have a smartphone or tablet, so unfortunately a lot of the videos that get a ton of views are the ones that are most accessible, ie. fortnite, PVZ, MKT, etc… but you can tell when Zack genuinely loves a game and plays it regardless, like with Splatoon. I think he’ll see this series through!
Pro tip don’t walk into enemies, they damage you.
This play through reminds me of the first time I played the demo, I was struggling to get used to the controls after being used to Metroid Fusion. But once I got the hang of it, it felt so smooth, the free fire aim is very nice.
I agree. The free aim is very useful for when some things are just out of reach so it's very nice you get to know how to use it very early on.
I’m currently playing the game and man it is amazing, it’s smooth, fun and challenging
I'm really enjoying it also. It just arrived in the post today, I expected it yesterday as I pre-ordered but it must have been running late, I'm only about the same point as the end of this video so far.. it is all the things you say, even though early stages it seems perfect as in.. at least from my perspective it's like you can't go too far off track, if you get stumped you just keep going and eventually you'll be back on track again.. a few times I was like 'where the hell am I' and then just kept at it and seemed like I was continuing correctly.. while there's no hand holding and it is a bit challenging, it's not too extreme to the point of being annoying plus it seems designed like you'll continue along your journey without getting stuck even though the map is big, seems well thought out, some metroidvanias I found to be a complete utter confusing maze (like Hollow Knight) I feel this one is more to my tastes.. like, yes you can go the wrong way, but you'll loop around again and realise and then you'll figure out 'well it has to be this other way'.. if that makes sense. I'm hoping it continues that way. Plays really nicely. Well pleased with it so far.
@@LordBoleskine yeah I agree. It doesn’t hold your hand but you always find your way back on track someway. Like after I found the powerball I didn’t know where to go so I just went exploring and what I thought was a secret was actually the way to get to an entirely different area😂

Best walkthrough out there. I love the commentary and I like that you show that you die sometimes as well. All of those perfect walkthroughs that show no deaths makes me feel like I am realy bad at playing!

Skyward Sword is the greatest Zelda game ever made and one of my favorite games period. I understand why people don't like it but please for the love of God give it a try.
I'm glad that you cover this game I recently had the choice between dark souls and metroid dread. I chose dark souls because i would get more play time. So it makes me happy to still have the experience through you.

The 2D Metroid games are the best. I just picked this up recently. It's definitely one of the most CHALLENGING ones I've played but I love it so far.

I have been looking forward to a new Metroid game for so long. I am impressed by the way this game looks. I am wondering if you would continue with Animal Crossing once the new update is out.
The detail on the creatures and especially just the last boss fight he did looked phenomenal. I never would have thought this game would have looked the way it does and God I give credit to some voice acting or character voices since its really just a robot but man you really don't always see voice acting in main line Nintendo games. The only Metroid games I've played but haven't completed was Metroid1 on the NES and Metroid2 Samus Returns on the GBC. I hope to pick this game up soon.

@@GodlyGoku101 ur a bit too late. I already got a comment from someone else and I just needed those 2 to go to the final boss level. I figured the rest out on my own... Somehow. And I beat the game last night.
And then I shut it off and remembered to look at the gallery and the first one surprised me! I always wondered how the first emmi robot broke down.
Confusing comment. But it's Metroid. And the AEON scan is already there to hold to your hand. Rest is up to you.
I love love love 2D "metroidvania" games, especially ACTUAL Metroid games where the term gets half its moniker from. That being said, it drives me BONKERS that you can't skip cutscenes in this game, especially given how difficult it can get at some points. All you want to do is take another crack at whatever it was that took you out while your strategy and enemy movement patterns are still fresh in your mind. You're just saying "come on already, I've seen Samus take innefective potshots at this super strong enemy 7 times already, lets gooooo!"
You can skip cutscenes. You have to press the + button and a prompt will appear to press the - button to skip.

Being a huge fan of super metroid, where most of the basic mechanics for this were first introduced, I cringe a little bit when he doesn't go back to that wall after pushing off of it :p.
