Great interview and some truly insightful questions. I find it very disappointing that Athol doesn't see any chance of RW Johnson's "united front" proposal. I think that this is a very good way to the few serious players to band together, with a shared vision to try and avoid either another ANC majority or an ANC / EFF coalition
Though I wont be voting for ASA ( yes, ASA. There is a difference between a name and an acronym. Insisting on "ActionSA" even as an acronym is like insisting on your own customised gender pronouns) , I am very glad they're there. What this country needed for the longest time is a predominantly black party with morally conservative, market driven policies. I hope they manage to activate the stay away voting block and make a massive splash in 2024.
I always liked you Athol, but you should never had left the DA. AtctionSA is a bunch of cry babies that gave up else where. I can never vote for ActionSA until the elephant Ego of Merman Mashaba leaves and ActionSA stops pointing fingers and grow up a lot more.
I hve also lost my trust in them. Accusing DA of peeing in a tent, and fighting for power. 8ts exactly what they have done. A man that talks about divorce blaming the wife to hyde his affair....I DO NOT TRUST

Basically politicians act in their our interests and not in the interests of the voters. Coalition politics in RSA has proved this.

@ Hannodb1961 There are many white ex - DA members behind Action SA and their support base is also largely white!

So your parties are willd dogs!
Ugh. Another grens-hopper politician. I have zero time for political traitors.
