I do Kazuma's scribe line method. Saves a me a ton of time. And for the deck, I do either 2",4" or close to it depending on the rails I want. On that I use a foam caliper like if I'm doing pin-lines. Those two methods prevent all the measurements and speed up the shape process.

Would be easier to draw a midpoint, shave some foam off and use a caliper?
