True! Japan is the 3rd biggest music market on earth. It is highly fragmented with many independent artists and labels. It is not an oligopoly like in the USA.
4 Months ago I was congratulating the women of NEK! when they 100,000+ views. Today they announced they hit 300,000+ views for "Get Over". I knew from the first time I saw/heard NEK! that they were going to be a huge force in the Japanese Music Explosion. All over the world people are waking up to the fact that Japan is the new home of incredible MUSIC !!
I love watching the bassist. Too often bassists in bands barely move, but this young lady just cannot stay still. Her legs are constantly moving just as fast as her hands playing the bass.
To everyone in English speaking countries. I think there are many people who like the bassist girl, but since she has her own channel, I would like to introduce her. The channel name is ❝ かなで - Kanade - ❞ . I'm just a Japanese person, but everyone, please support NEK!.
Seems a lot of Band Maid fans were recommended this. Looks like the algorithm has us all figured out 😅 Scary accurate but I honestly don't mind what shady stuff these google bots are upto as long as I can bump into good stuff like this. A Deal I can't refuse I guess XD
Japan has so many all female band that actually legit. I think I've seen a lot of animes that feature high school girls playing music so it seems like Japanese girl or teenager tend to get into music more than any other countries with well-known pop culture.
the overwhelming majority of people who watch and play all female bands'anime and games are men. i do think that the influence of anime is creating an environment where all female bands can thrive.
The reason is that from the elementary school, the music class is compulsory (a few times a week). When the kids go to high school, the music is not compulsory but then the students are encouraged to join after school social club activities and many girls join the music clubs (as most boys join the sport clubs) - for real, it's just like the anime you may have seen. So, you have a plethora of females that had music background who then go on to pursue music after high school. Yes, it's due to that Japan has a great number of female modern instrumentalists. Unlike Korea where the music is something that families themselves have to support the kids to have music lessons (they do have high schools that specialize in music though). I don't know if one is better than the other as both countries have world class classical musicians. What is different is that even though Pop genre is big in both countries, it dominates Korean music scene whereas in Japan, you can make a living as a rock band. You could not do that in Korea.
@@fastskipper777the Japanese way does seem better, imo. There is a massive caveat, though… the education system must be good and have the proper resources for music education! Not many countries are on Japan’s level and Nek! is just the latest example in a long and brilliant line! Also, check out Rolling Quartz from Korea.
So many very decent bands from Japan, mostly women bands, or at least majority women, that I have run into lately. And they're all modern bands, too, but with style and sound that beats the stuff coming out of America for quite some time. NEK! is new to me, but I dig this.
Just a little bit left, and you'll cross the 100,000 views mark. Almost 6,000 subscribers and over 7,000 likes. These are very good numbers for a debut. I am very glad that many people appreciate your creative potential.
To all, the band name is pronounced as NEKi. With the letter "i" turned upside down into "!". I think majority of us got the pronounciation wrong, myself included at first 😅
With only that fast and fierce intro you know that you are going to hear an awesome song. Totally loving this catchy and punk song and the overall energy it gives, you girls are awesome 🤘🤘🤘
I've re-watched/listened to this half a dozen or more times over the last 3 hours, watching the subscribers go from 1900 to 2100+. This is great original music, with (I feel) influence from Band-maid. Which is just fine by me.
@Plackomiot eh that comment is kind of in poor taste. I've been following music festivals like NAON YAON for over a decade that feature all female jrock bands. They've been empowering women in music for decades. There's nothing wrong with being a male and enjoying great female musicians.
This song really sounds like a cool opening for the top anime. Congratulations on 4,000 followers. I hope that soon you will again delight us with excellent music.
Japan is just full of insane bassist.😱
In Japan the bass is an instrument as important and part of the music as any other, not just "the rythm section".
it's based! Jap scene brought me into bass playing!
The Barefoot Assassin is happy
I heard that kids are required to learn at least 1 instrument. Hence, their eagerness to make music in Japan

I swear the whole rock didn't die it just moved to Japan joke just gets reinforced every few weeks at this point
It's a neverending rabbit hole.
Die??? It never left. Japan has been rocking since the 50s.
It was also rocked by something else, but we dont like to talk about that very often...

Japan: good music + cute musicians
What's not to love?
Another great and promising band from Japan. Isn't it amazing the talent that you can produce when your culture is still somewhat sane?
That BASS, though 👌
IKR?!
I know, right? I totally got F chopper Koga vibes from Gacharic Spin.
Hika is the cutest, coco the fiercest, kanade the most powerful, natsu is the most pretty and technical

I kind of got that vibe too; SCANDAL's setup with BAND-MAID's style, but I've never heard Tomomi or Misa slap like that.

Man, this debut really raises hopes and expectation of this band. Here's to hoping they keep it up!
The guitar vocalist...the way she sings, was really cool 🤩

Bassist rips. Luka jersey on drummer. Dreams do come true
I've discovered this yesterday though a video of someone comparing BAND-MAID to this band and I've been playing this song for 10th time already.
