For the record, I was absolutely a kid that wanted to train in 100X Gravity. I always trained like vegeta to look like Broly since I was like 10. 13 years later and that's still my motivation and the reason why I take up martial arts. Absolutely no shame in it
Something I love about this is how subtle but in your face they are about everything, if you look at the clouds as goku transforms you see the Japanese kanji for “Heavenly” a direct nod to heavens equal the heavenly monkey, as well as possibly having the pontara(the kai’s fusion earrings) in several shots on Vageta, showing off how in this time line he could’ve been sent to the kais for training and possibly shows were he learned to form his ki into a blade (people are split on this on and I am too cause they look like it but arnt the correct color and don’t stay on the whole fight)
Super stoked you guys caught the significance of the bone-breaking punch → fall out of SS → goes back into SS. It 100% encapsulates his grit and toughness and the idea that he's too strong-willed & determined to go out that easily. The way that he seems to just look madder and more determined to whoop some ass each time he gets knocked out of it & then goes back into it is dope as hell. It looks badass, but not many reaction channels have really pointed that angle out. To me, that (and the following slips out of/into SS) was 1/2 of what made me feel: "Yep. *This* is Vegeta. They got him 100% on point" - the other half being a combination of his fighting style (just straight up relentless) + how he talks (shoutout to the VA) /carries himself. The man's dripping confidence and swagger w/o the need to tell you about it.

Heres's my thoughts on the flame deal Vegeta said Goku'a primal light was out of control so this might be a feral pre super saiyan take on Super Saiyan itself I also like the fact the two of were moving like actual monkeys.When Vegeta was weaving and he hopped on the air, it reminded me of the One Punch S1 Opening The Hero when Saitama is midair about to punch the monster in it.Also glad y'all know about the Monkey King Lore
i think its purely a wukong thing, not a pre-super saiyan especially since it specifically hints at sun wukong. His "super saiyan" is gonna be entirely different since he's the OG true version of the more than likely watered down version of super saiyan that all the other saiyans use

His power level is not gonna jump from 330 to over whatever his transformed power level is (considering base was far over 99k) from 1 transformation regardless of feasible multipliers.
They blended Kill a Kill, Street Fighter, One Punch Man and the originals to form something way better than even Super. Pretty much a work of art. Well done.

my theory on Vegeta flipping in and out of ssj: The hair color is a lot lighter like the efficient forms from cell saga so he's using the absolute bare minimum of his 'refined primal light' to power up.
Why would he choose to take a weaker form against someone like broly? Even in cell saga it was Goku who came up with the idea, Vegeta actually pushed his saiyan 1 form to the limit even in that I think it's just much simpler, broly's punches are so strong that he's losing consciousness for those split seconds thus unable to keep up the form... Which is something that happens in fights very often
They also gave him the powers of Sun Wukong, sharing knowledge with others.

Gokus transformation is based off his original story by Akira-San, Sun Wukong Son Goku. The whole DB was inspired by Journey to the west.
