This video is a bit old, so you might not see this, but I followed this video to grow from grocery store mint. I've had no luck. A couple of stalks grew tiny roots. I left them in water and later planted them. So far only 1 has survived. I will try again, and may try seeds as well. Thanks for the inspiration.
You can use hydrogen peroxide (3% solution) to kill spider mites. Also helps for a number of funguses and other things... Though you should of course do your own research. I, myself, prefer to use 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide and dilute it down to a 3% solution (even lower sometimes) with filtered water as to avoid the stabilizers that are in the brown bottle drug-store hydrogen peroxide; particularly if using on a plant I intend to eat. 👍 H202 will apparently not kill the eggs though and therefor should be used in succession. Neem oil is another natural remedy that can be used for a number of garden issues... there are different kinds of solutions one can make with it and I would recommend , again, to do your own research. ~ Happy Gardening! ✌

I'm planning on making a truckload of mint iced tea this summer.🧊🥤🌿 P.S. I'm also starting some from seed (the smallest seeds I've ever encountered) we'll see how that goes.
@@juanningatlife , I learned the way to prune each cutting, to separate cuttings for maximum air-flow, and to use small water containers for rooting process. By the way, I noticed that he only used the top part of the mint to root. 🌱

Whether the bottom of the stem above the node so there’s no node on bottom, right at the bottom of a node so there’s a node at the bottom, and through the node diagonally. I instantly thought of you lol Keep up the great work!
It sucks that you got spider mites and had to throw out the mint you tried growing. Still, it's quite motivational to see you do this all from just store bought herbs.
I usually just top up the jars every few days as the plants take in the water/nutes. I try to leave 1-2cm of root exposed to air at the top, and fill the reservoir up to that point again every few days

Thank VVV! That’s definitely something worth trying out. I wish I tested the split vs 45 with these mint stems but I just didn’t think about it 😂
