  • We just completed the Mid-Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route and all the bikes and gear performed well. The Tusk Olympus Panniers were really tested though with an accident and enormous amounts of rain. If you are in the market for Mosko Moto luggage but don't want to drop more than $1K, it might be a good idea to check out Tusk for other options.

    Just got mine for my KLR a week or so ago. So far so good, I also have the tusk hard panniers that I have beat to death and have no complaints. I had to hammer out a little crinkle in one of them but the racks have been rock solid. Sure can't beat them for the price!

      It is good to see high quality gear below the insane prices we see on some of the top shelf brands. This lifestyle doesn't and should have to break each of us out of our savings. Having other good options mean we can bring in more riders willing to ride and that is a very good thing for everyone.

      I have had a Nelson Rigg backpack/tailpack that has been on my radar for two years now. I haven't pulled the trigger but I might in the coming year just to have a reliable, small, waterproof bag for the bike.

      It was quite the crazy day and we were lucky to come away as good as we did after pushing a little too hard. The bags did a great job of holding up under all that abrasion. I hope you enjoyed the vid and got some info about the bags other than their ability to crash and slide. ;-)

      @@BeGoneForGood I did - just to find out that they obviously do not sell those here in Germany. That leaves me with the Givi or the - much more expensive - Kriega or Mosko. 💰

    I'm on a Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE which, except for some less known companies, doesn't really offer a right side rack/mount. The high pipes do stick out pretty far so even the ones out there look very unbalanced. I just picked up the Giant Loop Great Basin and am going to try that out on a few sections of the MA BDR in April. It looks pretty good, but strap management is daunting, lol.

    • @BeGoneForGood

      That is ABSOLUTELY the most beautiful bike I have ever seen but I can imagine the unique design elements make accessories a little difficult. I will be curious to hear what you settle on and how it all works out for you.

    What length of the steel core straps are you using? The 4.5ft or 6ft? Hate those 3 straps going over the seat.

    I am definitely interested in buying that set up, are they big enough for a four day trip, in your opinion

    • @BeGoneForGood
      @BeGoneForGood  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This video was shot on an eight day trip with plenty of extra room. With a center bag, this could be a ten day setup with no difficulty whatsoever.

      4 days, 100 days, what's the difference in what gear you'd take?

    • @BeGoneForGood
      @BeGoneForGood  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On this particular trip, I left the computer at home and just brought along a wireless hard drive for daily footage dumps. If I were leaving for 100 I would probably bring the laptop and a few extra cords. Other than that, the pack out would be pretty similar. Maybe a book.

    • @russellinthebush2897
      @russellinthebush2897 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BeGoneForGood Good answer. A lot of people believe that just because a trip is longer, they need to pack more. That really need not nor should not be the case.

    • @BeGoneForGood

      I am sure you can get similar steel core locking straps rom other places but Mosko Moto sells the ones we use with our luggage.

      Totally true. The Mosko stuff is really pretty but as Kevin said, "I got 80% of the way there for half the price." It is tough to argue with that point. ;-)
