I enjoyed watching your video! My husband and I want to do this backpack adventure but spend a few more days. Is there anything you would do different if you went again? Or advice?

I definitely wish we could have stayed an extra day or two to explore the far northern and southern parts of the island. Some advice I would offer is to not underestimate how large the island is and how much extra mileage any detours will add. Both days we went over the mileage we thought it would take. The terrain is flat so it's not so bad but we still got pretty tired! Also, the water at the ranger station and the Stafford well is potable, but it tastes pretty bad. I recommend filtering the water you get there to make it taste better. Thank you for the comment and for watching! - Kyle

JR here and I agree with Kyle. Another day maybe even two to see the rest of the island would've been nice!

How did the tents hold up in the wind? Was one better than the other? Recently had my nemo hornet in high winds and rain and it was great.

The wind really died down after the sun set. No problems at all so we didn’t need to experience their limits put to the test fortunately. So far, no problems with either tent in inclement weather when the fly is taut and pitched in a good location where water doesn’t pool.

The Aurora did very well. Kyle was back more into the wooded area so it wasn't quite as windy back there, but I had zero issues which is nice because I was honestly not sure how the groundhog minis would hold up. It also died down a bit at night which was nice for the sleep!
