Dude, I cut out the front suspension and put in a solid front axle from a Suzuki Samurai under it with leaf springs and all. Turned out GREAT!!!!! I little skinnier in the front, but the flex was awesome!!! I've done a few such conversions. Great hobby.
I had this same car as a project car and while driving it caught on fire and burned to a crisp. It is now a nice steel pancake at the auto graveyard crusher.

You guys are great - Kristin is a keeper - I don't think my wife would laugh if a tire feel off of our Tracker. I have been unable (mostly due to lack of time) to start mine 1995 Tracker since I moved it out of harms way on Halloween. I have replace most of the ignition parts (wires, rotor, coil etc..) . I believe that it is the timing belt as with 142 k miles on it, it should have been replaced maybe twice. I bought it for $800. If I get a garage to fix the starting problem, a belt replacement will cost at least $500. I was hoping to spend that money on brakes ( ihate to do brakes) and a paint job. If I can paint it myself with a roller, that would be great. I have used a roller with semi-gloss paint on various things normally painted via spray with very good results. If a gloss finish is not required, this might work out very well. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank for the video - Dave

after watching this video close after it was posted I fell in love with this car & now over a year and a half later we were searching craigslist’s for my first car & we found this exact car, a 1994 geo tracker with the same original color. super nice quality for how old it is and barely 100k miles. i love it & so excited to drive it in a few months!!

Buick GSX I wrecked a 91 tracker but it still ran well and the frame wasn’t messed up and I actually sold it for a decent amount to a guy who wanted to convert it to off-road.
First rule of offroading, always carry a small roll of bailing wire. I have had a coilover seperate from the mount like that before and I just wrapped about 8 wraps of bailing wire around it and the lower control arm (my mount broke at the bottom). I drove it 5 miles offroad to get back to civilization with it held together by wire. A friend of mine also broke a u-bolt on his rear axle, and we used bailing wire to get him back also.

Your personality is so similar to a teacher I had last year I only had him for one semester but he was really funny and goofy and he was just the teacher everybody loved and he was teaching a class of college preparedness and he was taking about how when buying a car you just got to tear them down and act like your not gonna buy it and point out all the problems with it. Lol, I work in a mehanics shop and I have never ever seen someone paint a car with a paint roller lol, that was the first, make sure u atleast put a clear coat on that paint or else all you paint will soon be gone
Vlad haha yep, when you apply this specific Bed liner material, you use a specific paint roller to give it a “stipply” texture on the outside. It’s not regular paint!

My Girlfriend needed a car for her commute back to college in 1996. Her parents bought her a 1995 geo tracker 4x4. She used it through 4 years of college driving 59 miles a day then took it to graduate school in the other state. In 2002 we got married and SHe got a new car. I Started driving the geo to keep miles off my Diesel truck I had at the time. We kept it as a back up car until 2014 even though we had newer cars. By that time it needed work. It needed a clutch and brake work, a top and the a/c fixed. My Dad knew we were selling it and he bought it. He put it into a local shop and had everything fixed. He still has it down on a farm and uses it quite a bit. It's been a great little mpv. It was never really modified other than some more aggressive tires and it'd go anywhere my built cj5 would go albeit with way less power. If I can find one in good shape I plan on getting one when I get close to retirement.

I have noticed that the TRACKER is very much like the SUZUKI Sidekick. We got a Sidekick in 2002 is is a 1996 and it still rocks. We put a new engine in 2008 and this Sidekick kicks ass!

These Geo Trackers/Suzuki Vitaras are actually amazing off-road cars, and as such many people convert these into trail rigs like this

My '95 Tracker is about to hit 220,000 miles and shows no signs of giving up!

Roll and tip paint technique is somewhat common for sailboats. If you thin the paint enough it won't be textured.

I have noticed that the TRACKER is very much like the SUZUKI Sidekick. We got a Sidekick in 2002 is is a 1996 and it still rocks. We put a new engine in 2008 and this Sidekick kicks ass!
