So when Russ broke the triple-double record, they were still down by more than 10.... I knew when he did it, he wasn't gonna be satisfied with just getting the record.
Then he made this legendary shot. Needless to say, I was going nuts with all the Thunder fans in the upper deck.
There was a pair of Nuggets fans sitting next to me who left with 3 minutes left, they said "We're up by 10, might as well beat the traffic."

That last play was so incredible as well because in that game he set the record for triple doubles in a season (42). Then he wins the game at the buzzer. Amazing!
Triple double: double figures in 3 statistical categories in the same game, usually, but not always, points, rebounds and assists. Has also been done with steals or blocks, but very rarely. There have also been a handful of quadruple doubles but that’s extremely rare.

Also he has that "I'm better than you" and the "you can't beat me" attitude. I've played with guys like him and was literally inspired to play harder and do things I wouldn't usually have the confidence to do in a real game. The context for the last clip makes it even better. Westbrook in the game of that last clip, had a 50 point, 16 rebound and 10 assist triple double . That was his 42nd triple double of that season which broke the regular season record for most triple doubles in a season and averaged a triple double for season and became the second player in NBA history to do that and the he won MVP for the season. And he averaged a triple double for the next two seasons as well.

number 1 is insane for a lot of reasons.
    1. He got his 42nd Triple double that game ( double digit points, rebounds and assists) which beat the previous record of 41, a record that was thought to be unbreakable.
    2. That three was his 50th point
    3. He had scored 18 of the last 21 points of that game, the 3 point (had an assist on the 3 points he didnt score).
    4. Prior to that game, Russ needed 14 Rebounds to officially average a triple double for the season ( done only once in history) and he got 16, making him the second player ever to average a triple double
    5. That game was the last game of the regular season, the Nuggets had to win that game to make the playoffs, meaning Russ basically knocked them out of the playoffs

The dunks where the player looks like he is winding the ball in a full circle is called a windmill dunk. You were also talking about the shot clock. You get 24 seconds to shoot the ball then a buzzer goes off. If the same team rebounds the ball the clock resets to 14 seconds for that team to shoot again. If the opposing team rebounds the miss then they receive a full 24 seconds to go shoot on the other end of the court.

There is a 24 second shot clock which limits each possession, but once the ball hits the rim, the shot clock resets. What happened there was the shot was taken right before the end of the clock, it hit the rim but came off, the clock reset to 24, then Westbrook got the rebound and dunked it.

  • @manny2742
    @manny2742 4 ปีที่แล้ว

If the time runs out and it hits the rim and you get the rebound then it’ll reset to 14 seconds. it used to reset back to 24 seconds but the rule was changed recently

The shot clock is 24 seconds in the NBA. If they don’t put up a shot before it expires, the other team gains possession. If the offense puts up a shot in time and gets the ball back on the rebound, the shot clock resets to 14 seconds. So Westbrook’s dunk was legal

The shot clock begins as soon as the ball is inbound. 25 seconds in standard NBA rules. Each time the ball touches the rim, or is turned over the shot clock resets. If the team in possession of the ball doesn't manage to score before the clock reaches zero, the result will be a turnover of possession of the ball to the opposing team.

Kyrie is generally seen as a little better dribbler. Kyrie is also a much better shooter whereas Westbrook is much more athletic and when he’s trying a very good defender

The time limit to score is called the shot clock, and if the ball hits the rim (the hoop) then the shot clock resets so what he did was completely legal

That buzzer is a shot clock both teams have 24 seconds to score a basket and it resets back to :24 seconds if a player of either team scores or misses but also i think a new rule was added to where if a team gets they're own rebound twice i think it resets to :14 seconds or something

4:50 it was still Legal because the ball made contact with the rim, thus resetting the shot clock for another 24 seconds, had it hit the backboard or air balled it would’ve been a shot clock violation

Shot clock resets if the shot hits the rim, so that dunk was done in new 24 second offence clock.

on 7:30 the inbound rule is that the ball has to touch a player to be on play so that play was totally legal. (also not called a rebound

Basically his teammates shot beat the 24 second clock, once the ball hits the rim the 24 second clock resets, so the outback dunk was good.

It's called a "shot-clock" and each posession is given 24 seconds. Once the ball touches the rim the shot-clock can restart to 24.

4:46 if the ball hits the rim at the buzzer, you can rebound it or dunk it, if it’s an air ball it’s a turnover

Passing off the defenders back is fairly common at all levels of basketball. It probably happens less in the NBA because defenders are more aware, but it still happens a handful of times a season. Also, Russell Westbrook is NOT an “all-around” player: he’s a poor shooter, poor defender, and has hurt his teams with his ball dominant approach. He’s currently helped the Rockets underachieve, so far, in 2019-2020.

In the NBA the offense has 24 secs to get off a shot or else it is a shot clock violation and the other team is awarded the ball. The shot clock nowadays is usually located just above the backboard. In college ball, in both the men and women's game, there is a 30 sec shot clock. Once the ball however hits the rim the shot clock is automatically reset. Aside from being one of, if not the fastest player in the Association, Russell is the most intense and competitive player in the league. Or as Kobe Bryant once said, "Russell is a handful". Also understand, at one point Oklahoma had Westbrook, Durant, and James Harden, who came off the bench...and they failed to win a championship.
