Pleasure to have gotten the chance to meet you in the Vegas lounge on your way to LAX. I was the one who greeted you wearing the palace x alpine jacket. Enjoy Abu Dhabi 🥂
I am at the age where I can’t travel long distances unless I can travel business class. I have to lay down. Makes a huge difference. Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed the 2023 Season with you.
Kym: Thanks for all the videos this year. How about a few best of videos covering travel -- best flights, seats, airline food, hotel rooms, and so on -- and also favorite photos by category: drivers, paddock, race?
$.595 for a Cinnabon at an Airport is a great value. You get a bottle of Water for $4.00 in most other countries. As a US citizen, if you get a TSA pre-check you don't go through the same area. It is a must here in the US. So as the Global Entry. You get a background check and then a short interview then and you're cleared of all Immigration lines.
Hi kym greetings from Thailand yes a hotel room must include a balcony like the long ones connect lounge to bedroom are the best I think air france yes used them uk to Switzerland a few times but probably 50 years ago with parents but only economy great video as usual stay passionate 🎉🎉
Your turbulence to LAX was from Santa Ana winds of 40-50 mph .. those winds with go east to west. I used AF Business often between LAX and CDG.. for airline food was very tasty.. soon you will be on Holiday after an amazing year for Red Bull.. poor Carlos last 2 races
The LAS airport has a very decent American Express Centurion Lounge (if this is how you got Priority Pass). I am French and I never fly Air France. United is just more spacious even in Economy and they don't go on strike as much (I fly SFO CDG twice a year)> PS and yes food on AF way better than United. But I catch up once I land !
Kym - always enjoy your videos and I don't even like F1 that much. It feels the most real + knowledgeable. I absolutely hate being sick and was sick on my last cross country flight - I wouldn't wish it on anyone!
I was on probably the last flight from Lima to Paris. COVID. Air France, business class. It was filthy and definitely needed a complete refurbishing. Since this was a bit in line with previous Air France experiences, I suppose quality depends on the destinations.
United does have a United Club lounge at LAS! You can get in with the purchase of a one time pass or with a the United Club credit card/annual membership
Enjoy the off season Kym... Will miss regular vids but I get it, will cherish the ones u post anyway... By chance if u can, will u do the Singapore circuit drive like Albert Park last year? Would love to see it😂
Kym, thank you so much for sharing how you record these videos. As someone thinking about beginning to create videos in your style, this helps a ton. Thank you and keep up the amazing work! 👏👏
Thank you Kym for these awesome and very well produced videos! I've only recently discovered you but glued to every video since. You've even converted me from Supercars to F1!!!
Kym mid-field terminal is a pain and seems Air New Zealand loves to arrive there.. 12hr flight from Auckland and then a walk from the terminal then down underground and up in to Bradley proper and then the shlep to Immigration and customs. Has me avoiding LAX now.
My parents were flying from Toronto to Mumbai and a flight which was operated by Air France but booked by Delta Airlines. Their stopover was at Paris. And they were requested not to board the second flight since there were issues with required travelling documents. to my surprise, they were even booked for a flight to go back to Toronto, and all their luggage were taken out from the previous flight. I simply just couldn’t understand how come no one at the Toronto Pearson airport from the booth of Air France, was able to detect what was wrong and could’ve requested them not to fly from there, which could have avoided such issues . And individuals at the airport were so rude with them and kept taking them back-and-forth from Air France booth to Delta airlines, pinpointing that it’s not our issue. I feel post Covid. There has been a huge issue that has been neglected in aviation industry. I simply wouldn’t prefer or recommend to fly with them.
You could have spared yourself a flight had you chosen my employer and sister company KLM by flying directly to Amsterdam and then to Dubai! I will be looking on the passenger list to see if you are onboard. Happy to fly you!
As long as you can still get a decent croissant on Air France and a good tea with scones & clotted cream on British Airways, you know things are going to be OK.
My experience with Air France has been mostly positive. There's a lot of criticism out there to all what's related with France not only to Air France. After being involved in the country's culture in six trips in last three years (of several weeks each) I was able tell they're NOT that rude. No Harvard degree needed to see that their good taste and refinement FOR EVERYTHING is what causes the widespread envy you see all around.
It'd be great if you can get a free facial in the Air France Lounge next time you fly. There are Clarins Spa's in many of the lounges although hours of operation might not align with flights.
I stayed in the same hotel in Abu Dhabi but not the same suite though. Recognised the pool where I saved a young boy from drowning several years ago. Instant goosebumps when I saw that pool shot. Why not fly Emirates to Dubai direct?
With the increased travel to USA it’s a shame you can’t apply for the US Global Entry program (with TSA Precheck). If Australia ever join up I can heartily recommend it. It’s saved me hours of waiting over the past 4 years of being a member.
I just realized you had David Fincher right behind your photos of Brad Pitt. I guess nobody noticed. It's probably nice being able to be pretty anonymous out in public sometimes.
Hi Kym. I must admit to falling out of love with F1. It’s now far too money orientated ( it always has been) but seeing double standards like removing the pit girls then with the usual woke reason then having cheer leaders on the US ones Is far too doubled standards for me and the fixing of last years championship was the last straw for me. But enjoy seeing your vids albeit more time spent on the food rather than the aircraft/journey. Your cold was really taking it out of you on those flights but why not fly direct LHR/Abu Dhabi with BA? Less flights though it does mean going through one of the worlds worst Terminal’s T5 at LHR. ( I spent 26 yrs working for an airline and it’s the worst have ever been in lol). But good work getting your suite but am sure it wasn’t cheap
@@KymIllman Having worked for an airline for 26 years I formed my own opinion of different airlines based on the quality of their engineering and basic safety levels. One my jobs during my Army Air Corps army service was being in charge of aircraft accidents which was distributed throughout the different squadrons so pilots and ground staff could learn lessons from previous incidents so my viewpoint was always focused on more on the safety than say the good onboard service. On any long haul service I always carry with me food bought in the airport prior to boarding so am not that interested in the onboard food. Any food will always taste different at 40,000 feet as it’s been reheated and our taste buds are altered! I still get airline benefits ie cheaper flights so I don’t get too choose my seat etc as it’s allocated on a what’s availible basis so my main focus is getting on rather than what’s availible lol
Gotta say Kym, you look like the cold is kicking your butt. Having just traveled halfway across the US and back with a cold, I feel your pain. Thanks for your candid comments as always.
Sorry you got that nasty respiratory virus that is going around the US at the moment. I seriously can't tell you a single person who doesn't have one at my work. Truly dreadful stuff.
I fly a lot with Air France, love it. And amazing customer service too.
That’s me cackling in the lounge! Thanks for taking a picture with me Kym, hope you’re feeling better!!
Funny as!

Heavy turbulence is quite the norm, when flying through Las Vegas. I suspect it’s due to the heat rising from the desert.
Even with a cold you still put out a great video. Take care
It’s a grind
Great video Kym.
Do you have to carry the big telephoto lens around with you?
I wouldn’t want to let it out of my sight either.

Delta's go to...no service because of "turbulence" in the area. I bet you a $100 there was minimal to no turbulence.
You are a man of culture I see, I love the office too

Possibly a Cannon 70-200 just chilling on the left at 8:38!
From LAX, why do you go via CDG instead of going straight to Dubai with Emirates? You look quite knackered, Have a good rest!
Depends on available flights and costs

Does qantas lounge allow frequent flyers even if the flight scheduled is not onboard a one world airline?
No
So how did you access it flying air France?
My question is why do they always put socks in your kit bags ? just about every airline does it and I do not know any one who wear them.
VERY NICE VIDEO !!!!!! WONDER JV LOVES TO FLY AIR FRANCE ........
Super. Love AF. Oh yes - and still waiting for the video on 'What brand of Underpants are worn by f1 drivers'...!
When they are good, it’s hard to beat AF in business class.

Do a Jamba Juice review next time your in the USA!
Air France is by far the Best

LA to Dubai direct on Emirates and a drive to Abu Dhabi.?
