I had both Ninja Warriors and Robotrek growing up! I loved Robotrek's goofy sense of humour, but the crafting system was too clunky. This was pre-internet, so figuring out item combinations was literally: Try to combine item A one at a time with EVERY OTHER ITEM YOU OWN. Okay, now do the same with item B. Doesn't help the some items are one-of-a-kind (which you can't know at the time) and could be used in multiple combinations, the other item you might not get until much later (which you also can't know at the time). Still on my list of favourite games. Ninja Warriors was way better than it had any right to be. The controls, hit boxes, and difficulty scaling were actually pretty tight, and it was just a solid game start to finish.
Also, Super Castelvania IV isn't a Metroidvania. None of the Castlevania games were Metroidvanias before Symphony of the Night on PlayStation and Saturn. Well, no, actually Castlevania II: Simon's Quest is Metroidvaniaesque, but that'sbesidethepoint!

@@Marc_Araujo Agreed. Frustrating gameplay, leveling up magic is a pain in the arse because resources are so limited unless you fork out a lot of cash and the multiple money types was another irritation. And the many glitches that could softlock a game.
@@samusx2175 It was a even-crappier version of Secret of Mana...an already overrated, rushed and unfinished broken game that had the the same flaws you just mentioned of Secret of Evermore. The only good things from both those games were the nice-looking sprites and their soundtracks. My biggest gripe is the near impossibility of leveling up the magic and weapons amd how if you don't have them leveled up all the way by a certain point, it becomes impissible to do so afterwards.
@@Marc_Araujo based, I'll take Ys or that Quintet trio over the Mana games any day
@@ImWatchingYou69 I never cared for the Quintet games but Ys: Book I and II and Ys III: Wanderes From Ys on the TG-CD were superb...too bad Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys never got a translated western release.
The Firemen - an excellent example of a quench'em up
Great channel! Just subscribed!!! Woot woot!!!
You listed all but the most iconic SNES back catalogue at the beginning....SUPER METROID yeahhhhhhhhh!
My childhood! The SNES!
You mentioned Pocky & Rocky...so this video is correct!!!
Dragon ball + Chrono Trigger + Robotrek = Akira Toriyama ...That was a great man !! he did so much for the gamer / anime fan !!! miss you
Turtles aren't amphibians. They're reptiles.
And the TMNT aren't turtles, they're tortoises. Just don't think about it too much.
Magical Pop'n, Hagane, Holy Umbrella, Gunman's Proof, Goemon 3, Hameln no Violin Hiki, Front Mission Gun Hazard, Rendering Ranger R2, Bushi Seiryuuden, etc etc. You could have done a top 30 hidden gems video easily
Playing Final Fight 2 as we speak. Love the SNES
The Firemen is one of my all-time favorite games.
Hi Ashton. Greetings from Brazil. I loved Pocky & Rocky, but that game was really difficult.
i'm horribly offended that she listed some of the SNES' biggest RPG titles in the Bahamut Lagoon entry and omitted Final Fantasy 6!
No but seriously....that did annoy me lol
The best final fantasy for me, still. It’s aged well, but I still wish it would get a 2dhd remaster, or a remake like FFVII to make it more accessible to a new generation.
@@makasete30 oh not only is it my favorite RPG ever, its my second favorite game of all time PERIOD. Wish it got more love from Square and were at least available on Switch
Glad this came out, I was looking for some good games to play 30 years ago
Some good suggestions here. Zoop made me cry and die a little inside when we got it one Christmas as kids. The music also hurt my brain.
Buster busts loose is still one of my fav games of all times. Snes classic
Turtles are reptiles, not amphibians. 😆🤭
Other than that egregious error, great video! Some solid choices here, for sure. 😁👍
i'm glad to see robotrek it's definitely overlooked for sure
Nice touch naming one of your Robotrek bots Crooooooow. :)
Great vid 😊
Milon’s DoReMi Fantasy looks like the kind of game I would have loved playing when I was growing up
Also, Super Castelvania IV isn't a Metroidvania. None of the Castlevania games were Metroidvanias before Symphony of the Night on PlayStation and Saturn. Well, no, actually Castlevania II: Simon's Quest is Metroidvaniaesque, but that'sbesidethepoint!
Awesome video.
I've actually played most of these. All good games. Robotrek also has a nice soundtrack.
Everyone should play the Firemen. It's very short but fun as hell.
You need three hands to play Wild Guns. I only have two, so I find it difficult to move, aim, jump and shoot simultaneously. Same with N64 Sin & Punishment.
Someone has been watching SNES drunk videos to make this list lol
Wild Guns and Tin Star are so underrated .
This SNES is my favorite console, but to the other rabid fans in this comment section, take a chill pill. Curb your elitism and gatekeeping. Am I not allowed to appreciate the Twilight Zone and Gilligan's Island because I was born in 81? Don't like this video? Go watch the latest influencer drek.
There is another hidden gems from Squaresoft like this two rpg, both released in 1996: Treasure Hunter G and Treasure Of The Rudras.
Thank you small English child/grown English woman for this quality video
King Arthur looks amazing! Come on Nintendo get that online catalogue filled up already - on and square: more snes RPGs in HD2D please 🙏
The Ninja Warriors was a port of the triple-screen wide arcade game and was inspired by American Ninja (years before the power rangers)
Bahamut Lagoon is so gorgeous 😻
I've heard of Pocky and rocky. I don't know where I heard about it or how I heard about it maybe I heard about it from SNES drunk, but yeah that first one Pocky and Rocky I actually have heard of I just didn't remember much about it
No mention of The Firemen basically being a firefighter version of Die Hard?
Other hidden gems of the Super NES are these:
Robotrek
Dragon View
Uniracer
Top Gear
Secret of Evermore
WeaponLord
Looney Tunes B-Ball
Plok!
the Ignition Factor
Panel de Pon
I bought Doremi fantasy when it was released on wii in late 00s. Top game
Great video
You mean Starwing? Star fox was clearly a Commodore 64 game
My absolute favorite was Porky Pig's Haunted Vacation
*metaljesusrocks entered the chat*
loved phanton 2040 for snes
Fireman and pocky and rocky 100% fire
Ah, you know Mercs. You are not Herbert. :D
From my understanding they're gonna keep the super thing going... I've heard the new switch will be called SUPER switch
Super Ninja Boy, Pop'n Twinbee Rainbow Bell Adventures and a little entirely unreleased gem called Jelly Boy 2.
Great list. It's actually pronounced "Tie Toe" 😉
Sunset Riders & Wild Guns!
🐎
I'm shocked you didn't mention "Whirlo"
Robotrek is decent but it's just weird AF we got that in the US but not the 16-bit Dragon Quest games.
Odd you didn’t mention DoReMi Fantasy being a sequel to Milon’s Secret Castle.
Human Entertainment also made Taekwondo on the SNES which is a great beat em up. It's in Japanese or Korean
+McShufts
I added that to my SNES mini console back in the day. It's great, I just wish I could read the text, and knew how to perform the moves consistently!
Unirally is a hidden gem.
Am I glad that I have own RoboTrek, it's one of the greatest RPG games that I ever played 💯
I swear the word "titular" is used in every video you guys make.
And "iconic".
@@reinforcedpenisstem "You play as the iconic titular hedgehog in this fast paced classic."
