You post really great videos Adam, thank you. I'm in the Atlanta, Georgia, USA area and I can't find anyone locally who builds ponds with windows, nor have I been able to locate anyone to build a stainless steel frame. Do you know if anyone builds these fiberglass frames in the USA? I also watched your QT tank window install without a frame. Having installed both framed and frameless windows, which do you prefer? Is one a stronger or more water tight installation? I might have better luck finding a contractor without trying to find a frame. Thanks in advance.
It's laminated glass in this ponds case it was 32mm thick. Ive seen normal double glassing work but if anything hits it then it will fail immediately which usually means fish all over garden.
Hi Gary, 1 inch kingspan boards where used under the fiberglass only the walls though saves rendering i chose not to do the floor because if a brick drops on the floor with kingspan under it will definitely puncture the fiberglass. Adam
Hi Phil, This glass is 32mm thick the only reason for that is there is not much difference in the price but it did not need to be that thick. it depends how deep under water the windows is to how thick it needs to be if your windows is 1 foot under or at the surface but not supported at the top then i would go thicker than 25mm. Most of the time the people making the glass will give you a good indication of how thick they would like it to be as it looks bad on them if it breaks. Adam
the black bits are leaves but the bit on the left where the fiberglass is a lighter colour is because there was water coming from the garden so the fiberglass would not stick to the concrete so an insulation board was put under and the water was added a little early to put pressure on the fiberglass so it could not lift up. Adam
Brickwork is awful right above the window too! There is pretty much a straight perp joint on the 3 courses above the window... Brickwork bond is supposed to be half bond for aesthetics but more so strength. That brickwork will be weak!!!
can you give a link to purchase one of the frames please
Nice update. Love the pond window. Real nice job.
Hi Adam,

Hi Adam, i'm considering a concrete pond. What would you recommend? Hollow bricks with rebar or something else? How thick does it need to be?
Just a normal glass is ok or you need to a tempered glass ?

I guess 12mm tempered??
What thickness and type of glass did u used??
says 30mm in the video but that's way over engineered. 17.5 or 25.5 at a push would easily do on a small window like this.
Hi mate were do you by the window frame from thanks graham Hill
How much does a pond build like that cost ?
Hi mate could you tell me who made the window frame, and could i get one made to order? Many thanks
Beautiful
It’s gonna be a great pond
Where did you get the window from?
What insulation boards are used under the fibreglass Adam?

Adam

Hi Adam is this your own pond or is this a build for a friend or customer?
Really well said good thanks
Hi Adam, did you make this pond? I just wanted to know how big it is and can I obtain a fibreglass frame like that?Good work.Terry
4 minutes 28 seconds. Care to explain the patches on the floor?

Adam
How long after the repair was done because of the 'garden water' was water put in the pond to keep the fibreglass down?
