Why wouldn’t you but it for edging? That was the sole purpose i bought it

because I hadn't done any edging to my nature strips before this video and it was too thick for this, but yeah if you maintain it to a manageable level, it's a great tool for it.

Would you recommend this for a small lawn so I don't have to buy a lawn mower?

probably not thicker grass, and won't get an evenly cut result either unfortunately.
